I was unsure where to post this as it relates to a grown up name :slight_smile:

I know of the actor who goes by [name_u]Mandy[/name_u] Patinkin and was curious whether [name_u]Mandy[/name_u] was his actual name or a nickname. It seems that his formal name is Mandel [name_m]Bruce[/name_m], although he obviously goes by [name_u]Mandy[/name_u] as a stage name. Does anyone know if there is a story behind that?

I have only known [name_u]Mandy[/name_u] as a nickname or diminutive of [name_f]Amanda[/name_f].

I believe Mandel is a Jewish name, perhaps he chose [name_u]Mandy[/name_u] as it is more familiar outside of the Jewish community. Not sure though. :))
