[name]Both[/name] mine and my boyfriend’s families have names that begin with [name]MAR[/name]:

So, I thought it would be a nice idea if I used a name that began with [name]MAR[/name] to include everyone in a way…
[name]How[/name] about [name]Mara[/name]? It’s my cousins name and I think it’s really pretty and it could be used by your daughter whatever her personality was and it would ge well.
I love [name]Mara[/name]! If my third were born a girl, he would have been [name]Mariam[/name]. Its the Arabic form of [name]Mary[/name]. I love it! Here are some more suggestions:
If you want to also consider names that don’t start with [name]Mar[/name], but have “mar” I. The middle or at the end, that opens the field up to a lot of other beautiful choices. Among them:
For this sort of question I like this website: http://www.babynamefacts.com/search.php#.UdtFF_llnKo
Where it says "contains this string of letters, put “mar”. For starting letter put “m”.
This website isn’t very good for name origins, meanings, etc, but you can just look up a name somewhere else once you find one you like to get that additional info.

I think there are some lovely names with [name]Mar[/name]- or even -mar- out there, but I’m always wary of them because in a language that I speak it is the word for “bitter.” That’s not to say you shouldn’t go ahead and use a mar- name, it’s put me off from lovely names like [name]Marceline[/name] and [name]Mariet[/name] for ages.
