. What do you think of sibset [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_u]Esme[/name_u]? I’m sending hubby subluminal messages for [name_u]Esme[/name_u] (would be my pick for first name!). I just love everything about it, so if I can get it as a mn, I’ll be happy!

@seawillow Fair points! I am definitely thinking about if [name_f]Mara[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] are too similar. I didn’t really think about the names overall having similar sounds, but you’re right and probably what I love about [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_u]Esme[/name_u]! 
This could honestly be a pipe dream. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband has only recently not given a hard no to any mention I’ve made of [name_u]Esme[/name_u]!

If you like [name_f]Mara[/name_f], would you consider [name_f]Maren[/name_f]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] even? These may help with any [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] reservations.
@justlikeflorida I don’t mind [name_f]Maren[/name_f], but I do like [name_f]Mara[/name_f] more. Something to consider further though. I have to let names grow on me sometimes. I know my husband would definitely say no to [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] 
I actually have recommended [name_u]Harlow[/name_u], but that was a hard pass for him.
I am also really in love with the name [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], but hubby doesn’t like it at all. 
Also adding [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_u]Zoe[/name_u] are still our current backup names if anyone wants to weigh in on those two as well. I’m leaning [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] between the two, as I keep thinking [name_u]Zoe[/name_u] is too cutesie/popular.
mara esme is beautiful, and i think that mara & hazel sound really sweet together!! 
This is my hang up as well. I really like both names but am having trouble seeing them as siblings.

It’s lovely, and [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] and [name_f]Mara[/name_f] are lovely together, but the [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] / [name_f]Mara[/name_f] thing would bother me. In this context [name_f]Mara[/name_f] feels like a diminutive for a name you’ve already used, even though I know it’s a name you love in its own right. Which would make me worry whether the child would feel a bit shortchanged, like her name is a bit of an afterthought / unimaginative recycling of one already used (even though I know that’s not the case).
I think [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_u]Esme[/name_u] is a beautiful name. [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_u]Esme[/name_u] is gorgeous she’s spunky, has a bright sparkly European vibe and has a fun sound. Personally I think the Margaret/Mara concern is a non issue. I think unless you’re a name nerd you’d make the connection. Furthermore [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is a middle name so when you just look at [name_f]Mara[/name_f] & [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] you wouldn’t make the connection. I understand that teamed with [name_u]Esme[/name_u] there is a lot of shared sounds with [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] but again as [name_u]Esme[/name_u] is a middle name I wouldn’t worry. I love [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_u]Esme[/name_u] and if you love her go for it
I very much appreciate all the input here. So helpful in my decision making. I think for me [name_f]Mara[/name_f] feels a bit more separate because I personally would not call a [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] “Mara”. Would most likely be [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], possibly [name_f]Margot[/name_f] for me. We’ll see. There is a VERY short list of names hubby and I can agree on 
[name_u]Love[/name_u] that sibset!! I think [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] and [name_f]Mara[/name_f] both have a sweet vintage vibe to them and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_u]Esme[/name_u] give both names a more sleek (idk if that’s the right word) to them!
