Which middle do you prefer for [name_f]Mara[/name_f]?
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]
Mara Winnifred
All are family names for us. What do you think of [name_f]Mara[/name_f] in general? Would it be better to name her [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and call her [name_f]Mara[/name_f]?
I don’t love [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], but somehow I find [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] hard to pronounce together, so I’d have to go with [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. I don’t think having an elaboration is necessary, as [name_f]Mara[/name_f] is a full name in its own right.
I prefer the full name [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Mara[/name_f] (which I love). It’s always nice to have a full name for resumes and university degrees. As for the middle, both are lovely names. [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is lovely and feminine. [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] is cool and quirky (though I know it’s a family name). I always envied friends that got cool family names as middle/first names because none of my family’s surnames were suitable.
So I guess I pick [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]
My favorite combo is [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. I think using [name_f]Mara[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is a lovely idea, though I also think that [name_f]Mara[/name_f] works just fine on its own.
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is stunning, and I like the simplicity of just [name_f]Mara[/name_f], as opposed to [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mara[/name_f].
another vote for [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]! So beautiful. I think [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is too much - [name_f]Mara[/name_f] is pretty by itself. good luck!!
I love [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]! [name_m]How[/name_m] pretty
Normally I love the idea of a long name with a nickname, but not this time. [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is so beautiful on its own!
I don’t get the whole “name a kid one name and call them another name” trend. It makes no sense to me. With that said, there’s no need to use the name [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] if you plan to call her [name_f]Mara[/name_f].
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] is my favorite!
Thank your for your feedback! My husband and I and both sets of our parents have a formal name and a nickname so it would be in the spirit of tradition. I agree with you though that [name_f]Mara[/name_f] is great on its own. We are leaning towards [name_f]Mara[/name_f] as a full first name and [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] in the middle
Though it’s not what I would typically like, for some reason I absolutely love and am drawn to [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]! [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is lovely as well, but [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] just feels so much more special.
Also, I prefer just [name_f]Mara[/name_f] to [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mara[/name_f]. [name_f]Mara[/name_f] is such a wonderful name.
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is lovely! I’m not a fan of [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], and I like [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]/[name_f]Winnifred[/name_f] but it sounds too stuffy and old-fashioned next to the more modern [name_f]Mara[/name_f]. I like the idea of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mara[/name_f]- I’m a fan of creative and unconventional nicknames in general- but I’d only do that if you actually loved [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], not just because you wanted a longer name for [name_f]Mara[/name_f]. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] doesn’t have the same spark as [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] for me though.
