I love the nickname [name_f]Marcie[/name_f]. I think it is 100% adorable and I just love the sound of it. But nameberry and other naming sites seem to think it’s outdated. What do you think? And what’s your favorite full name for it- [name_f]Marcella[/name_f], [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] (Adventure Time made me love this name), or [name_f]Marcellina[/name_f]?

I think it’s adorable - dated, yes, but in a old film-star sort of way. I love [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] for the same reason, and [name_f]Marcie[/name_f] is just as cute.
I love [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] too but I think a little [name_f]Marcie[/name_f] would fit in perfectly well without a longer name, although she might occasionally get ‘’[name_f]Macy[/name_f]?‘’
I don’t see it as all that dated.
It’s so nicknamey that I feel like it’s timeless–like [name_f]Missy[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], etc.

You could also use [name_f]Marcie[/name_f] with something like: [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f], [name_u]Damaris[/name_u], [name_f]Esmaralda[/name_f], [name_f]Marcia[/name_f] (which I think is cute and simple), [name_f]Maricela[/name_f], [name_f]Marisa[/name_f], [name_f]Marisol[/name_f], [name_f]Mazarine[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] (again, cute! I think it could work), [name_f]Samara[/name_f].
I like the idea of [name_f]Marcia[/name_f] pronounced [name_f]Mar[/name_f]-see-uh, but most people I know with the name pronounce it [name_u]Marsh[/name_u]-uh. I’ve been looking for a good nickname for [name_u]Damaris[/name_u], [name_f]Marcie[/name_f] works really well! Thanks!

But I HATE [name_f]Marcie[/name_f]. It’s almost enough to chase me away from [name_f]Marceline[/name_f]. It is like [name_u]Jan[/name_u] or [name_f]Claudette[/name_f] to me, a certain sort of not-old-enough-to-be-back but too dated to be usable.
I don’t mind [name_f]Mari[/name_f], which I know is reasonably just as dated, but doesn’t bug me. And I rather like [name_f]Mae[/name_f], though [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is repellent, personally.
I love, love, love [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Marcie[/name_f]. It’s awesome to see other Adventure Time watchers on here. It’s probably my favorite show (and I am 30, ha).
I’ve actually talked to my bf about naming a future child [name_f]Marceline[/name_f], [name_f]Marcie[/name_f] for short, after falling in love with the name from Adventure Time. He’s 30 and I’m in my early 20’s, she’s my favourite character after BMO. As for dated I think it would fit in with the [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]'s, [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]'s and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]'s. [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] is another great name
aww, that’s too bad. I guess I haven’t had the same exposure to it that most people have.
I’ve only ever meet one person named [name_f]Marcie[/name_f] and she’s around 28 now–she was quiet and sweet (and a bit mousy–which is how I remembered her name) when I knew her.
Funny how exposure changes your opinion of a name so completely. I feel exactly as you do about [name_f]Claudette[/name_f] though!

I think it’s dated, but awesome. (I have a soft spot for shag carpet and puce green crocheted blankets and floral curtains, a la 1973, so take that into account.) I have loved [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] for a long time (Adventure Time is boosting my love, though) and I think [name_f]Marcie[/name_f] (or [name_f]Marcy[/name_f]) is so great it almost makes me cringe. You know how sometimes, something is so cute that it makes you sick, but it doesn’t cross that line into the obnoxious, terrible territory? That’s where [name_f]Marcie[/name_f] is for me. [name_f]Love[/name_f] it. I think [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] is gorgeous as well.
Aah! Yay, more Adventure Time fans! I love [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] (although [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] is pretty cute also.) It’s pretty high on my favorite names list, and [name_f]Marcie[/name_f] would, no doubt, be the nickname!
