Marco as a nickname for...?

It is a big traditional in my family to choose a longer traditional name but then be known by a shorter nickname (e.g [name_f]Lilian[/name_f]/[name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]/[name_u]Nico[/name_u], [name_m]Clifton[/name_m]/[name_m]Cliff[/name_m]). Not only is this a tradition, but it’s something I love and think is the exact sort of “vibe”.

Anyway, I absolutely adore the name [name_m]Marco[/name_m] and it would be so incredible to have it as a shortened name or something else that is longer/ more traditional. Suggestions would be INCREDIBLY appreciated!

[name_m]Marcus[/name_m] seems the obvious choice - although it is the same number of syllables as the nickname, it definitely seems more formal

[name_m]Marcano[/name_m] / [name_m]Marcas[/name_m] / [name_m]Marcos[/name_m] are more unusual international forms of the name

Otherwise, [name_m]Marcel[/name_m] / [name_m]Marcello[/name_m] / [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] / [name_m]Marchello[/name_m] / [name_m]Marciano[/name_m] have a soft C, but I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to use [name_m]Marco[/name_m] with a hard C as a nickname

As more of a stretch, Remarque, Maracek, [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], [name_m]Marshall[/name_m], [name_m]Marciano[/name_m], [name_u]Maurice[/name_u], [name_m]Marischal[/name_m] could all work
