I love Max, especially with the alliteration of our M last name, but not really a fan of long-form options like [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] or [name_f]Maxima[/name_f] which aren’t really our style.
Do you think that [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] could work with the nickname, [name_u]Max[/name_u]? Or would you just use [name_u]Max[/name_u] on its own?
For reference, other names on the top of our list include [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_u]Lou[/name_u], and [name_u]Romy[/name_u] so there is definitely a subtle [name_u]French[/name_u] influence a la [name_f]Nicole[/name_f].
I like it but I don’t think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] nn [name_u]Max[/name_u] would work well. Much prefer [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] nn [name_u]Max[/name_u] as you said
What a great idea! I also don’t like the long forms of [name_u]Max[/name_u], and have just [name_u]Max[/name_u] on my list, but I think [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] nn [name_u]Max[/name_u] is perfect!!
oh wow! that’s actually so cool. [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] is so soft and gentle and then with [name_u]Max[/name_u] it’s like boom!! [name_f]Awesome[/name_f].
As a lover of [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] and [name_u]Max[/name_u] (for both genders), I LOVE this idea. I’m usually funny about nicknames that aren’t intuitive but I think this actually works… [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] is my top pick if we were to have a second daughter so I’m going to keep this in mind!
I’m kind of on the fence about this since it doesn’t match the pronunciation. If you don’t like [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] or [name_f]Maxima[/name_f], what about another name that has the ma- sound? [name_u]Max[/name_u] seems for fitting as a nickname for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] than Margoux imo.
I’d suggest go for [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] but put an X name in the middle to get nn [name_u]Max[/name_u]. E.g. [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] or [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]?
