I always like [name_f]Margot[/name_f], but I am starting to like [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] too. I already have [name_f]Margarita[/name_f] on my list as well, but I am starting to like [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] more. What do you prefer? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you get different imageries from these three names? What middle names would you give to [name_f]Margot[/name_f]?
prn. [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]: mahr - geh (hard g) - RIT
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] - no-nonsense, but also dark academia. Serious, studious, dark colours, intellectual. Would pair well with smart, clipped and tailored names like [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] and [name_f]Paige[/name_f], or clippy vintage names such as [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Enid[/name_f], or the streamlined crisp starry chic of [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. These two names together evoke midnight in [name_u]Paris[/name_u] for me.
[name_f]Margarita[/name_f] - all I think of is pizza and cocktails. That extra syllable and -a ending renders a little on the frilly / overdressed / bloated side for me.
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] - soft and vintage [name_u]French[/name_u] chic. I think sepia toned villages and countryside, linen, delicate flowers in tones of antique rose and old gold. Would pair nicely with names like [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] / [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ilse[/name_f].
Not sure on middles for [name_f]Margot[/name_f], I definitely think it could take a more elaborate middle to counter its streamlined and tailored feel.
I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is a black turtleneck, checkered skirt, red wine, low, deadpan voice kind of name. [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] is starched collars and dusty roads and handwoven baskets and church pews.
I nanny a little M@rg0t, and she is such a darling. She’s hyperlexic, constantly talking or singing or learning a song, dressed in bright colors, hair in her eyes, loves the color pink, and idolizes [name_u]Julie[/name_u] [name_m]Andrews[/name_m]. To me, the name [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is a bright rainbow—a wild-hearted girl with a reserved nature but so much color within her.
I also like the idea of [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] or [name_f]Margarita[/name_f] nicknamed [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. That’d be a nice way to get all the names you like.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] → refined and stylish, a slightly dark academia vibe, but with vintage cosiness too. It’s a quietly confident name, with a pleasing sound
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] → sophisticated and elegant - it could lean either posh and aloof or fresh and bright. I get imagery of silk dresses, shades of pale pink, blue, teal, and purple, baroque or rococo interiors (I think this is because of a character called Marguerite)
[name_f]Margarita[/name_f] → this gives me a bright, lively and arty vibe. It has flair and confidence. There’s also a summery feel to it - holidays by the pool or the beach in the sun (I think it’s the cocktail name that gives it that feel)
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] remains my favourite
I’d consider the following middles for [name_f]Margot[/name_f]:
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] is my favourite. [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] and [name_f]Margarita[/name_f] both make me think of pizza and cocktails unfortunately.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] has a touch of class ablnd could take a short or longer middle.
