Margot & Megan…too similar?

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I adore the name [name_f]Margot[/name_f] but my name is [name_f]Megan[/name_f]. Are they too similar and would it cause any confusion?!

I think they are fine for mother-daughter! For sisters I’d say yes, but in this case they don’t sound too similar and having the same meaning is actually a cute connection

I think it’s fine as long as you don’t go by Meggy (since the go-to nickname for Margot might be Maggie). If not, then go for it!

I don’t think they are too similar for a parent and child. I would think siblings named [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Megan[/name_f] were too close since they are both variations of the same name, but for a parent and child it seems more like a sweet connection, if not an outright honor name.

The names sound distinct from each other to me so I don’t think it would be confusing to others.

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] is beautiful! I don’t think they‘re too similair

I agree with this! I think it’s pretty cute :yellow_heart: Margot and Megan also have pretty different sounds so they aren’t names I’d be too worried about people getting mixed up.

I don’t think they’re too similar, and honestly your name won’t be said next to her name very often anyway. I nannied for almost 2 full years for a family where the mom’s name was [name_u]Allie[/name_u] and the daughter’s name was [name_f]Ella[/name_f], even sometimes going by [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], and I still never noticed their names were very similar until like a month or two before I left the job, almost two years into it. Siblings’ names are said together a lot but parent and child aren’t very often.

They’re not too close, especially for a mother-daughter duo.

I think it’s fine!!

I think it’s fine for mother and daughter

For siblings, yes, but for mother and daughter I think it’s actually quite a cute connection!
