[name_m]Can[/name_m] [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] be a standalone name or do you see it as more of a nickname?

And who are Maggie’s siblings?

I prefer just [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]! She feels really sweet and fun :yellow_heart: Nickname names are very popular in both the UK and Australia so I don’t think a just [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] would stand out too much!

I’d expect her siblings to have equally short, feisty names! It could be another nickname name like [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], [name_m]Archie[/name_m], [name_u]Beck[/name_u], or [name_u]Ziggy[/name_u], or just something short and cozy like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_u]Finn[/name_u].

I love the name [name_f]Margot[/name_f]! I like [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] quite a bit, but do consider it more of a nickname. Maggie’s siblings most likely have classic names with fun nicknames!

I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f]

Siblings for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]:

[name_u]Harry[/name_u]
[name_m]Otto[/name_m]
[name_m]Paul[/name_m]
[name_u]Cal[/name_u]
[name_m]Bram[/name_m]
[name_u]George[/name_u]

[name_f]Ella[/name_f] / [name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f]

I typically think of Margot as a stand-alone more than I do Maggie but Maggie - and for that matter, Peggy - is so happy-making. You could use Margot nn Maggie, or just use Maggie alone for sure!

Maggie, Tess & Felix would be sweet!

I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f] - [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] sounds quite harsh to me & [name_f]Margot[/name_f] makes me think of the lovely [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Robbie[/name_u]. I do think [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] could stand alone though! I think [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] would make a great sister for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_m]Archie[/name_m] or [name_u]Theo[/name_u] could be her brothers :sparkles:

I feel like [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] could be a nn of [name_f]Margot[/name_f].

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] is all nickname to me. I love [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]! But [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] would be the obvious thought. I think Margot/Margaux works too though.

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] feels cutsie to me, maybe its the nickname thing. Its cutesy for a child and kinda dated on an adult for me.

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] is classic but feels like it ages better and would still be cool for a kid.

I like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] nicknamed [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]! [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is my fave. :two_hearts:

They are both charming!

For me [name_f]Margot[/name_f] & [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] have a different feel.

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] is sophisticated with a pan European sound she’s elegant, classic and strong. Very polished. She has a little black dress feel and evokes imagery of old school Hollywood glamour, pretty Parisian streets and vintage [name_f]Chanel[/name_f] handbags. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] siblings would be [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] & [name_f]Freya[/name_f].

Whereas [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] feels carefree, sweet, nostalgic and cosy. [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] conjures up cottagecore feel with autumnal imagery cosy fireplace, oversized scarves, craving pumpkins and holiday cheer. [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] definitely works as a name in her own right and I considered just [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] as a middle name for my daughter. Maggie’s siblings would be [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f].

Both are gorgeous just depends on what vibe you want!

I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f] - warm, vintage and charming.

I do like [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] a lot too though - sassy, literary and fun, but clunky cute too. I think it stands alone!

Maggie’s sibs could be:

[name_f]Betsy[/name_f]
[name_f]Libby[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]
[name_u]Joni[/name_u] / [name_f]Joanie[/name_f]
[name_f]Etta[/name_f]
[name_f]Lotta[/name_f] / [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lois[/name_f]
[name_u]Teddy[/name_u]
[name_m]Geordie[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonty[/name_m]
[name_u]Albie[/name_u]

[name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_u]Ezra[/name_u]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_u]Rhett[/name_u]
Cylde
[name_u]Billy[/name_u]

I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f] nn “Maggie.” :womans_hat: :cherry_blossom: :basket: :lady_beetle: :bird: :sunny: :kite: [name_f]Margot[/name_f] has such a cool ending – how many girl names end in that “Oh” sound? It’s got a jazzy sway to it, from the “Marg” to the “Ot.”

I’m sure [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] could be a standalone name, but as an American, it does strike me as strange since it’s always been a nickname in my experience. I also love the name [name_f]Margot[/name_f], so I’d be happy with both options, but again, I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] for sure and I think it can stand alone. I know someone who goes exclusively by it so much so that I’m not sure it’s not her full name.

Try:

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] & [name_f]Gianna[/name_f] “Maggie & Gia”
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] & [name_f]Annette[/name_f] “Maggie & [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or Nettie”
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] & [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] “Maggie & Annie”

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] & [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] “Mags & Sam”
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] & [name_u]Ridley[/name_u] “Maggie & Riddy”
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] & [name_u]Scott[/name_u] “Maggie & Scotty”

Hopefully these help

I think I’m probably alone in not liking [name_f]Margot[/name_f] at all. I think it stems back to my childhood, reading a book where [name_f]Margot[/name_f] was a ballet shoe, and so now I can only see [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as a name for shoes.

I like Maggie’s sunniness and charm, but it’s not one of my favourites (I find [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] a lot more endearing). I think it’s best used as a nn for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], but then I like almost any of the other [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] nns (Meg, [name_f]Megan[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Gretel[/name_f], Gretchen) better than [name_f]Maggie[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f], but [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] can definitely be standalone.

Sibling name ideas:

[name_u]Henry[/name_u]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_u]George[/name_u]
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m]

[name_f]Orla[/name_f]
[name_f]Annie[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]

I love Margot… but I love [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] more, and have loved her longer. She can definitely be a standalone name! I named my daughter “just Annie”. It hasn’t been strange to people at all. “Just Maggie” would be great.

Siblings for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]:

[name_u]Asher[/name_u]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]
[name_u]Hayden[/name_u]

[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellen[/name_f]

I much prefer [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] to [name_f]Margot[/name_f] - though my favorite Margaret-stemming nicknames are [name_f]Meg[/name_f] and Daisy<3

I absolutely think [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] can be a stand alone name- I’m a big fan of naming your kid what you want to call them (unless you like both versions of course)

As for siblings for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], my first guesses would be:

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_u]Jack[/name_u]
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m]

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_u]Rose[/name_u]

I think I prefer [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]! It feels more friendly to me and I do think that it stands alone as a name just fine.
I have cousin that has a [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and a [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and I’ve always thought was the cutest!

I vote [name_f]Margot[/name_f], hands-down. You could always nickname [name_f]Margot[/name_f] “Maggie”, and I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] works better as a name, generally. I feel like it could grow annoying to the rebellious seventeen-year-old [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] to have a name she might see as childish or cutesy, and then when she grows up, [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] could seem unprofessional. But I love both names very much!
