Margot's Middle Name!

It has been done. I have convinced myself and my husband that if we get a girl on delivery day she will be Margot. It feels great, like we have possibly the most perfect name for a baby girl. Some may not like it but frankly I couldn’t care less!

Now though we are on to middle names, which are strangely a extremely hard for us… they are constantly on my mind, I finished work last week so I have way to much time to think about it. I’ve come up with a little list, each of the combo’s includes Winslet, which is definitely going to be included. I like Margot Winslet, just simple and classic but my hubby thinks she needs another name, mostly because Winslet is his mother’s maiden name… he thinks it isn’t fair for her to just get a reused surname. So here are some combos which I kind of like…

Margot Imogen Winslet (Our initial favourite, but it seems sort of pedestrian…)
Margot Florence Winslet (This is very pretty to me, but the two o sounds sound a little strange or something, what do you think?)
Margot Coraline Winslet (Does it flow?)
Margot Holiday Winslet (Too odd? I think it’s a little bit unusual…)
Margot Matilda Winslet (Does the double m work?)
Margot Isadora Winslet (Too much name?)
Margot Hermione Winslet (Again too much name? I really like this one!)
Margot Celia Winslet (Too old lady?)

Let me know what you think, if you have any strong likes or dislikes let me know!

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] is fabulous! It is serious and fanciful, all at once! I don’t think it’s too much name. It stands at eight syllables, the same as [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]; I know quite a few of those. It is quite a high letter count, but, on most days, she’ll be just [name]Margot[/name].

I also love [name]Margot[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]! It’s not too much name at all to me, but I tend to prefer long, multi-syllabic names.

Rankings:

  1. [name]Margot[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]
  2. [name]Margot[/name] [name]Celia[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]
  3. [name]Margot[/name] [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]
  4. [name]Margot[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]
  5. [name]Margot[/name] [name]Coraline[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]

The others I don’t really care for. [name]Matilda[/name]'s a nice enough name, but I don’t like how it starts with an M like [name]Margot[/name]. [name]Holiday[/name] is a bit too whimsical for my taste, and [name]Florence[/name] just doesn’t flow right because all the names are two syllables.

Margot Hermione Winslet gets my vote.

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Margot[/name] [name]Coraline[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]!! Absolutely beautiful…stunning. I also like [name]Margot[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] [name]Coraline[/name].

I [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Margot[/name]. I personally like [name]Margot[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Winslet[/name].

I love [name]Margot[/name]! Personally, I would stick with one middle name and use [name]Margot[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]. However, [name]Margot[/name] [name]Celia[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] is beautiful!

I like:

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Florence[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]
[name]Margot[/name] [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]
[name]Margot[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]

I love [name]Margot[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]. As for the double mns, I like [name]Margot[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] and [name]Margot[/name] [name]Celia[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] best. I also think the double m in [name]Margot[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] is cute.

Ditto! Couldn’t say it any better.

I absolutely adore [name]Margot[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Winslet[/name], it’s so beautiful. I had a thought for another too - [name]Margot[/name] [name]Francine[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]. I’m sure whatever you choose will be beautiful

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] is definitely my favourite! I love [name]Margot[/name], btw!

[name]Ah[/name] congrats! Finalising is so awesome!
My thoughts:
[name]Margot[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] - I love the name [name]Imogen[/name] it’s really lovely and well known in the UK. However I do agree that this middle name feels really pedestrian sandwiched between the lively [name]Margot[/name] and the intriguing surname choice. Suggestion [name]Margot[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]?

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Florence[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] - I love [name]Florence[/name] so elegant, and pretty. [name]Florence[/name] however doesn’t work sandwiched between [name]Margot[/name] and [name]Winslet[/name] the double ‘o’ sound is just odd and the fact that [name]Margot[/name] ends in her ‘o’ and [name]Florence[/name] begins with her ‘o’ it causes the the name to turn into a mouthful. Suggestion [name]Margot[/name] [name]Sienna[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Coraline[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] - I’m sorry for being so negative, but for me [name]Coraline[/name] doesn’t work with [name]Margot[/name], the combination lacks flow. I also dislike the running’s of the ‘o’ names together. Suggestion [name]Margot[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]?

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Holiday[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] - [name]Love[/name] [name]Holiday[/name], so funky cool and for filled with happiness. But I think [name]Holiday[/name] would work better teamed with a tamer classic like [name]Vivienne[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name]. This feels a little bit too unusual…

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] - I actually really like this. [name]Matilda[/name] just sounds really pretty sandwiched between [name]Margot[/name] and [name]Winslet[/name] I also think the alliteration within this combination is very charming. [name]Margot[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] is so sweet.

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] - Yes this name is very dramatic and could be deemed as over the top. I think when extreme berry favourites are partnered together it can create dramatic combinations like for example [name]Melisande[/name] [name]Alice[/name]. Yet it works. [name]Isadora[/name] is a lovely choice, very feminine and elegant she works sandwiched between [name]Margot[/name] and [name]Winslet[/name] the combination has a lot of character.

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] - My favourite. [name]Hermione[/name] is a lovely, elegant choice. She has a lot of fantastic qualities and feels whimsical yet strong. Unlike with [name]Isadora[/name] this combination doesn’t feel over the top, because [name]Hermione[/name] does have a softer quality to the name compared with [name]Isadora[/name]. I love how this combination works and she’s my favourite.

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Celia[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] - Hmmm slightly too old lady, I think [name]Cecilia[/name] would work better.

[name]Hope[/name] this helped x

My favorites are [name]Margot[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Winslet[/name], [name]Margot[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] and [name]Margot[/name] [name]Celia[/name] [name]Winslet[/name]. [name]Margot[/name] is beautiful, btw!

[name]Love[/name] [name]Margot[/name] [name]Matilda[/name]!

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Celia[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] is great! So is [name]Margot[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] - so lively!

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Margot[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Winslet[/name].

I love both [name]Margot[/name] [name]Coraline[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] & [name]Margot[/name] [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] they both tie for first place with me. [name]Margot[/name] [name]Celia[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] is my second choice!

Thank you all very much for your feedback!

My favourite is probably [name]Margot[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Winslet[/name], but I keep having this feeling that it looks so over complicated next to Bugsy [name]William[/name]. Bugsy’s name has always seemed humble and honest to me and [name]Margot[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] seems proper and fussy in comparison.

Hmmm… Maybe I’ll just try and convince [name]Jack[/name] that [name]Winslet[/name] is enough name by it’s self. In a bit of a naming slump right now! If she really needs another middle name maybe it will come to us when we meet her! She could be a he for all we know!

Thanks again,
[name]Lila[/name]

I like [name]Margot[/name] [name]Matilda[/name]
