Lately I have been loving [name]Marie[/name]. Not as a middle name, as a first name. It is a timeless name. It sounds classy and cute at the same time. It hits the sweet spot, too: not too common, but not unheard of. [name]Marie[/name] is also a family name for me, and has some French flair to it. The only problem is that [name]Marie[/name] is so common as a middle name that it is barely used as a first name! So do you think [name]Marie[/name] could work as a first name? If so, what middle names could go with it?

[name]Marie[/name] sounds very fresh as a first. If I see another girl with the middle name [name]Marie[/name], I’m going to lose it, but as a first [name]Marie[/name] is spunky and classy.
I would love to see [name]Marie[/name] on a little girl. I think it would be a refreshing choice.

I have always loved [name]Annemarie[/name], but it sounds like [name]Anne[/name] [name]Murray[/name], a Canadian folk musician.
I knew a lady named [name]Marie[/name], but you’re right…it isn’t used as a first name often. It was once the most popular girl’s name in [name]France[/name], but not anymore. They use double names like [name]Marie[/name]-[name]Claire[/name] and [name]Marie[/name]-[name]Claude[/name] in [name]France[/name].
I would pair [name]Marie[/name] with another French name.

[name]Love[/name], love it! This classic is very aligned with my taste in first names and it would be on my list if not for a rather unpleasant relative I have named “[name]Marie[/name].” 
I know several girls named [name]Marie[/name] and despite the fact that I think it’s rather trivial (at least at the places where I live), I still think it’s absolutely gorgeous. Simple and beautiful. I like it as a hyphenated name: the slightly ordinary one like [name]Marie[/name]-[name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Marie[/name]-Thérèse or [name]Marie[/name]-Élise; and the more unusual ones (at least not as common as the ones stated above) like [name]Marie[/name]-Gaëlle, [name]Marie[/name]-Francoise or [name]Marie[/name]-Athénaïs.
I also think that [name]Marie[/name] [name]Georgiana[/name] and [name]Marie[/name] [name]Aliena[/name] are great combinations.
I love it. Its so simple yet elegant, and so unexpected as a first name.
