The more I think on these names today, the more I like [name_f]Susan[/name_f]. It seems original when everyone (including me) is trending towards more vintage-y names.
I find [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] whimsical and soft. Not strong and not serious. I like the idea of [name_f]Susan[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] best. That way you get your [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], but in the middle spot, plus you get to honour your mom, plus you get a super sweet nickname. However, take that with a grain of salt, because I prefer names to be strong and serious and nicknames to be cute and whimsical. So I love [name_f]Susan[/name_f] nn [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] but not [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] nn [name_f]Margo[/name_f].
I also love love [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] and pronounce it the way you are, but I’d always thought of leading people to either use just [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] or [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]. Never [name_m]Harry[/name_m]/Hairy. [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] is strong, I’d keep it as a contender and choose between that and [name_f]Susan[/name_f] for when you meet her.
I thought the gloves might just be an English eccentricity, haha! Yes, HAR-ee-ut is how I pronounce it - how annoying about the ‘hairy’ thing!
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] especially if you call her [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]. I don’t really like [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] for a first name, it sounds really childish.
I’m waiting to see how popular [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] was in 2014. It seems like it’s trending really quickly.
So I wasn’t expecting this but I adore the idea of [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] sounds very serious and I think [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] gives it the bright sunny bump that it needs to lighten it up. It’s quirky and so intriguing to me!
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] is the standout for me.
I love the nickname [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and I like [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]/[name_f]Suzanna[/name_f] but [name_f]Susan[/name_f] feels dowdy to me. [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] falls under the vintage category which is so popular now but [name_f]Susan[/name_f] seems like a 50’s/60’s choice that is still drab. But, if there’s anything that could turn that sentiment around, it would definitely be a beautiful, happy, and rambunctious little girl so you can’t really go wrong with any of these options.
All are very lovely! [name_f]Susan[/name_f] is my personal favorite though. You couldn’t go wrong with any of these!!
Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!!
I love [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and I think it ages just fine. If she wanted to, she could use [name_f]Mari[/name_f] instead.
Also really refreshing to see someone consider [name_f]Susan[/name_f]! The name has a really beautiful sound.
I’ve never been a fan of [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] and its similarity to the world harlot always brings bad imagery for me personally. I don’t mind the hairy thing.
