Marinette

Opinions on the name Mair-uh-nette.

It’s not my style, and I want to still like it more than I do, but it just reminds me of marionette puppets. [name_u]Marin[/name_u] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f] are more for me.

Very Miraculous Ladybug to me, but I like how it sounds!

It has a fun sound, but I don’t love how close it is to Marionette.

It’s really pretty, even if it does sound like Marionette, so I wouldn’t let that stop me. A lot of names have some weird associations with modern media and stuff now anyway, so it’s not a big deal.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] an fyi, I know somebody named this and she pronounces it more like Ma (as in Mat)-Ree-Net, with the emphasis on the final syllable. [name_m]Just[/name_m] seems a bit different from your pronunciation so thought I’d point it out!

I like the name but it is quite frilly.

I didn’t know that anyone had that name. I got the pronunciation from a show.

As others have said, it’s almost a good name, for me. I prefer other variants and soundalikes: [name_u]Marin[/name_u], [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] and [name_f]Mariette[/name_f] (all have a short ‘a’ sound in my accent, rather than long [name_f]Mair[/name_f] like the start of Mary)

[name_f]Mariette[/name_f]

It was the name of the eldest daughter in the show The [name_f]Darling[/name_f] Buds of [name_f]May[/name_f] (retro cottagecore!) She was played by [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Zeta[/name_f] [name_m]Jones[/name_m].
