I have loved the movie “[name_u]Marley[/name_u] and Me” and I love the name [name_u]Marley[/name_u].
What is your opinion on the name and which gender do you prefer it on?
I definitely prefer it on a girl, particularly because of the two [name_u]Marley[/name_u]'s I know (one [name_u]Marley[/name_u], one [name_f]Marli[/name_f]), the boy is a really bad association while I have a little bit of a crush on the girl :).
I think [name_u]Marley[/name_u]'s a nice name, but I much prefer it spelled [name_f]Marli[/name_f].
I don’t think it has a specific gender, I could see it on either gender.
My sister loves it a lot for a girl, so I see girl.
I prefer [name_u]Marley[/name_u] on a girl. I like the name, I see it a bit more fresh cause I don’t hear it very often considering how many people use the ley/lee/leigh endings for names.

It’s one of those names that I want to be like, “it’s a last name! it belongs on a boy!” but I can’t. I’ve met too many girls named [name_u]Marley[/name_u]/[name_f]Marlee[/name_f]/[name_f]Marlie[/name_f] that I really can’t see it on a boy at this point. I think it would be refreshing to meet one though!
I’ve never met anyone named [name_u]Marley[/name_u]. My only associations are [name_m]Bob[/name_m] [name_u]Marley[/name_u] and my aunt’s (male) dog so it just seems masculine to me.
I see it as masculine (Dicken’s A [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] [name_f]Carol[/name_f]) and a dog name. I haven’t met any children named [name_u]Marley[/name_u] - yet.

A girl, just like [name_u]Harley[/name_u] is a girl’s name. I do like the [name_f]Marli[/name_f] spelling!
It’s not for me and I only see it on a girl.
