Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it. The more we’ve been around her and use the names the more she seems like a [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. However we still love [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f]. Would [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] be cute or too much?
I think [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] is very pretty and absolutely not too much. I also think she’ll love that you used the two top names, one from each parent, and it also gives you nn [name_f]Mimi[/name_f]. For what it’s worth I prefer [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] to [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Promise[/name_f] & [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- they’re lovely but [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] is dreamy to me and the two best names.
It’s great to hear you’re closer to making your decision!
[name_f][/name_f]With middle names, the meaning is my first priority since it’s not a name that tends to get regular use. So I would approach the middle name with the question: which name story would I most enjoy sharing with my child?
[name_f][/name_f]I like this question because it highlights what’s important to you, and it makes you think about the story from your child’s perspective.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] is a great choice. So is [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Promise[/name_f]. Neither sounds extravagant.
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] is adorable!
First congrats on your second little girl !!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Maggie[/name_f] gets my vote with big sister [name_f]Caraline[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]! And I love [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]. I like that you both get to have the names you thought of when you first met her.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]My[/name_f] only hesitation is [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Promise[/name_f] when said fast sounds like “ Make a Promise” [name_f][/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] [name_f]Promise[/name_f] if you stick with the middle name [name_f][/name_f], as it sounds like it is pact full of meaning
I may have missed it in a previous post, but have you guys considered Margaret with the nn Maggie? it shares the “mar” sound in Marlowe so it’s kind of a mix of the two. I like Margaret Promise! but if for whatever reason that one is not on the table, my vote will go to Marlowe, because I prefer the flow of Marlowe Promise and think it’s a little more interesting than Maggie.
Good luck, you guys will land on something beautiful!
Edit: I didn’t read all of the comments before commenting. Knowing that Maggie Marlowe is a choice, I would totally go for that one. Love that you’d get to give her your two favorite names and the very cute alliteration!
[name_f]Promise[/name_f] is just too out there for me… what about a name that means[name_f][/name_f] promise? [name_f]Elise[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] sounds cute, so does [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f].
