Marshall Emilian?

[name_m]Even[/name_m] though we are for sure naming our son [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u], [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] was my other name and it really bothered me I never found a middle name for it. We won’t change our minds on [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] but I cant turn off my brain in trying to solve finding a middle name for [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]! If I have a second son, we will use it.

I stumbled across [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] and I really like it, even though [name_m]Ive[/name_m] never been a fan of [name_f]Emily[/name_f] type names for girls.

I wish I could spell it Amelian though as an honor nane to my grandma, [name_f]Ama[/name_f].

What do you think of:

[name_m]Marshall[/name_m] [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] or [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] Amelian?
Masculine enough? For some reason even though these seem like boy versions of [name_f]Emily[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], I find [name_m]Emilian[/name_m]/Amelian very handsome! Is it just me?

[name_m]Emilian[/name_m] was a [name_m]Saint[/name_m] name. Amelian I might have made up so can I use it or stick to [name_m]Emilian[/name_m]?

Im only having 2 kids max and if I have a girl next time her middle name will be [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]. I really want to honor my grandma if I have a second child. We aren’t doing honor names at all this time around. Im kinda waiting to see if i have a girl is the thing!!

The other weird thing is, all our middle name coincidently start with R. So i was trying to find an R middle name for [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] but I think Id rather honor my grandma. I couldn’t really find another R name that I like. And if I do have a girl, I dont really want to do an R middle name. Its a cool random thing we have going but it was purely coincidental!

Marshall [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] is a great combo! I think [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] could definitely still be an honor name if that’s the intent. The name is definitely masculine enough!

I like [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] [name_m]Emilian[/name_m]! They definitely work together. [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] Ameilian (assuming you’re saying it like you would say [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]) also sounds masculine to me because [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] sounds masculine, so I think that name combo works as well.

Marshall [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] works and reads masculine to me. I also like [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] [name_m]Ames[/name_m] or [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] [name_u]Amos[/name_u] as alternative options to honour your grandma.

I love [name_m]Emilian[/name_m]. [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] is great and so is [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Reece[/name_u]!

[name_u]Honor[/name_u] names for [name_f]Ama[/name_f]:

[name_u]Amos[/name_u]
[name_m]Armando[/name_m]
[name_m]Armand[/name_m]
[name_m]Amir[/name_m]
[name_m]Amadeus[/name_m]
[name_u]Amal[/name_u]
Amalio

Am- Boy Names Starting with "Am".

I think I like it the other way round emilian [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]. [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] is very handsome.

Marshall [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] is charming

I dont like a lot of boy names that start with Am. Its really hard. I’ll think about it though.

Really loving [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] [name_m]Emilian[/name_m]. It has a sophisticated ring to it that matches [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] for me. The one problem is, I dont really like the initials MEH.

But I dont know if i can change it to Amelian.

It makes me think of [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] Eminem.

Eh. Im really tired of the bring up to the one famous person named [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] who probably won’t stay relevant and doesn’t use his first name all that often! I think its fine!

I was researching and may have to go with [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] Amelio as a legitimate name if I want a version that starts with A thats a legitimate name.

I do like [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] better but Amelio would solve the problem of the MEH initial thing and the Eminem association!!

So Amelio? A lot of cool names end in “o” I suppose. It kinda gives me a [name_u]Milo[/name_u] vibe. We are actually Italian as well on my side and my husband’s side so its kinda cool as it sounds Italian. D’Amelio is apparently a popular Italian surname.

Its a different vibe than [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] which i prefer but maybe Amelio will grow on me!

I like that. It’s a very strong sounding name.

Emilian is a guilty pleasure for me. I really love it. I see the appeal of Amelian too and don’t see a problem with that spelling especially in the middle. There’s also [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] which has a similar vibe too. [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] Amelian is very handsome, though I love [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] too

Thank you! Im really loving Amelian! Im surprised this isn’t a legitimate variation.

I like Amelio too but it sounds really exotic next to [name_m]Marshall[/name_m], which sounds like the furthest thing from exotic.

Im starting to also think I could give [name_m]Amias[/name_m] a chance! But I like Amelian more.

I prefer Amelian to [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] . I really love the idea of honouring your grandma with Amelian and as it’s a middle name I like the you still get to use the name you love and can be a little more flexible with the spelling .

I would go with [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] Amelian. Definitely not made up. I have found it is a last name and a street name in Massachusetts. It is established, though rarely heard about in everyday life.

If you really like Amelian I don’t see why you can’t use it, if your only hesitations are that it’s not “legitimate” or that it’s “made up” then to that I say: all names are made up! All names were invented at some time or other. People alter spellings all the time, it’s how we end up with lovely variants and derivatives. If Amelian is your preferred spelling then I think you should use it

Thank you for this advice! I think I will use [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] Amelian if I have another son. The full name has a lot of family significance. I feel better now about using Amelian. It must be a variant - just very uncommon. But fine for a middle name.

We are going with [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] this time around but I feel like [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] and [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] Amelian would be a good sib set. If a girl comes along, am hoping for [name_u]Harlow[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] or next choice would be [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] (although then I worry [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] are too similar- names are hard you guys! Fun but difficult! [name_f]Violet[/name_f] could be a potential middle name). Guess I dont have to have it all planned out right now. [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t even know if we are having a baby #2. Need to just focus on babe #1 first! Its been fun chatting about names though! Thanks again everyone! <3

I think you are right, and a child named “[name_m]Marshall[/name_m]” currently, will probably more closely considered with [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] the [name_u]Fire[/name_u] Dog on Paw Patrol by his peers. And that’s not a bad thing. [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] is by far the most popular Paw Patrol Pup!

Only old people will think of Eminem.

I really love [name_m]Emilian[/name_m]. Gives me a similar vibe to [name_u]Julian[/name_u]. Soft but masculine. Switching to Amelian would honor my grandma [name_f]Ama[/name_f]. But it looks kinda off to me, might just stick with [name_m]Emilian[/name_m].

I really like [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]. We ended up choosing [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] but [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] was a very top contender. I think it would be on our list again for a brother to [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. I love that its masculine but not very common. What I love most is the meaning, one who tends to horses. I picture someone kind and sensitive and sweet to animals. As an animal lover, I love it.

I dont really think about Eminem. But you have to figure some famous person probably has a name you like. Im not a huge fan of him and he’s not a namesake but you have to think he worked really hard and had talent so I guess it could be worse! I think he’s irrevelevent to future generations unless you really study rap history. There are new icons now. And plus his stage name is Eminem not [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] anyway so I doubt kids will make the association. [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] might remind us older parents of him - but again I might spell it Amelian!

I’ve never watched Paw Patrol. If its still around when my son gets to the age of watching cartoons im excited to get to know all about that [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]. Im happy to hear a kid would want to be named after him!
