What do you think about the name Marty? Can you imagine it as a full name or only as a nickname for Martin? What vibes does it give you?

I think straight away if [name_u]Marty[/name_u] McFly! It gives me similar vibes of this character: winsome, cheeky & sweet.

I don’t know about it as a stand alone (though I know it exists as one). It’s like [name_u]Stevie[/name_u], [name_u]Paddy[/name_u] or [name_m]Mikey[/name_m] as stand-alones, to me sound very youthful, even mischievous - could be challenging especially as the child grows into an adult. [name_u]Alfie[/name_u] & [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] work as nickname-names because they’re part of the vintage trend of the last 20ish years and they’re now widespread names (but even with these I would use the long version).

I also think of [name_u]Marty[/name_u] Mcfly. I’d put it in the same boat as [name_u]Alfie[/name_u] or [name_m]Archie[/name_m]

i think it definitely works on its own! it def has an 80s/90s vibe and i would be a bit surprised to meet a baby marty, but honestly it might even feel fresher on its own without a longer full name

[name_u]Marty[/name_u] is cool - a tad edgy, but sweet too. I can see it as a full name (but then I know plenty of Alfies, Albies, Reggies, Tommys etc and it fits in there)

Reminds me of [name_u]Marty[/name_u] McFly. Very vintage cool !

It reminds me of early astronaut [name_u]Walter[/name_u] [name_u]Marty[/name_u] Schirra (1923-2007). Yes, his real middle name was [name_u]Marty[/name_u]. However, it is more commonly short for [name_m]Martin[/name_m].

I think [name_u]Marty[/name_u] can definitely stand on his own! I like it better than the more traditional [name_m]Martin[/name_m].

I knew a man called [name_u]Marty[/name_u]. Obviously like others the first thought is [name_u]Marty[/name_u] McFly which is such a cool name. It’s trendy and full of personality I think. I also know a woman who goes [name_u]Marty[/name_u] but real name is [name_f]Martine[/name_f]. So it works for both genders. But I like it on a boy.

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_m]Martin[/name_m] Milner who went by [name_u]Marty[/name_u].

I do think [name_u]Marty[/name_u] could work as a full name though.

No matter which way you go, I think of both as fun loving, humorous, loyal people with a heart of gold and an upstanding life and work ethic. A great family man when older, but still a bit of boyishness throughout his life.

I think [name_u]Marty[/name_u] is a lovely soft name and I really like it as a full name. I know of a little [name_u]Marty[/name_u] younger brother to sister [name_f]Bella[/name_f]
