Okay, hear me out. What are your thoughts on [name_m]Marvin[/name_m]?
I think this will be a love it or hate it kind of name, but could be more than ready for a comeback! It has the trendy ‘v’ and a retro feel that’s still recognizable. To me, it carries a similar vibe to the cuddly [name_m]Ned[/name_m]. which is also high on our list.
Which nickname would you use? [name_m]Marv[/name_m], [name_m]Vin[/name_m], [name_u]Vinny[/name_u]? What middle would you pair it with?

Yeah, sorry, I’m not a fan. It doesn’t feel ready for a comeback to me. I like [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u], but not so much on a boy. Maybe [name_u]Van[/name_u]?
I don’t hate it, and I think meeting a young [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] would convince me! [name_m]Marv[/name_m] seems pretty dated, but I think [name_m]Vin[/name_m]/Vinny or maybe [name_u]Mars[/name_u] would work. I would go for a modern or classic middle name like [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] [name_u]Fox[/name_u], [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u], or [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m].

I think it’s okay. It could grow on me. It’s recognizable and easy to pronounce plus it has good nn potential - so it’s got a lot going for it! And certainly not popular, so no name-sharing issues. I say go for it!

Bad name association for me personally. I also feel it’s a bit dated.
I actually grew up with a few Marvins, so the name doesn’t feel too old to me! I’m not a fan of it personally, but I do think it can work. It makes me think of [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] [name_f]Gaye[/name_f] which is nice!
I love the suggestion of [name_u]Mars[/name_u] as a nickname, I think it really makes the name feel more current! [name_m]Marv[/name_m] is nice too, though it does remind me of the Home Alone films (not necessarily a bad thing!). Maybe Mav could work as a nickname? It’s a common enough nickname (usually used for [name_u]Maverick[/name_u], I think), so it feels familiar! I’m not a big fan of [name_m]Vin[/name_m]/Vinny personally, they feel dated to me, especially [name_u]Vinny[/name_u]. Sorry!!

Feel it might make a better middle name! I think [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] the Martian from Looney Tunes, feel it’s cute but not yet ready for a comeback as it still seen as nerdy and so unusable
To me, [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] is the make equivalent of [name_u]Baby[/name_u] [name_m]Boomer[/name_m] names like [name_f]Carol[/name_f], [name_f]Linda[/name_f], etc. Not vintage enough for a comeback yet, just dated.
I have to admit, [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] is a bit clunky and unappealing to me, but if i had to pick a nickname, I’d go with [name_u]Vinny[/name_u]

I like [name_m]Marvin[/name_m]! I also think of “How I met your mother”. [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Ned[/name_m] might sound too close to [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Ted[/name_m] from the show though?
Marvin reminds me of [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] the Martian. I dont dislike it though. I just dont think it has many associations that make it super appealing but it’s not a bad name in itself. I like names that start with [name_f]Mar[/name_f] and vin is cool because I like the nickname [name_u]Vinny[/name_u]. I actually really like it if I could get past the [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] the Martian thing! And [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] [name_f]Gaye[/name_f] isn’t a bad association but then I really just get his songs stuck in my head!!

It’s not my cup of tea, but I would not be disappointed if I met a little toddler called [name_m]Marvin[/name_m]. It’s classic & unique. Totally not a horrible name by any means. I don’t really like any of the nns that much myself. I wonder if you could do a ‘T’ mn, & call him [name_u]Marty[/name_u]? [name_u]Marty[/name_u] is adorable. [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]?
