Hello! I apologise if this isn’t the right section but my name is [name_f]Mary[/name_f], and I’m wanting to add one of my late granny’s names to my own. She was [name_f]Christina[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and I’d like to take one of her names in honour of her. I cared for her from the age of 11 up until she died when I was 15, and truly 15 years with such a wonderful woman wasn’t long enough. I am now nearly 20, and I still think of her daily.

So my query is, what flows better? I’m currently [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- my mother chose my middle [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in honour of her aunt, so that has to stay and I’m not bothered about having a long name. I don’t mind [name_f]Christina[/name_f] or [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] before or after [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], I just can’t tell what sounds and looks better!
[name_f][/name_f]
Thank you!
I like the sound of [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].

BTW [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] are all names from my own family tree.

I like (and also depends on flow to your last name):
Mary Elizabeth Josephine* (I like this order once I imagine a last name, other way to me sounds like two separate names)
Mary Christina Elizabeth*
Mary Elizabeth Josephina (smoosh of her two names)*
Or you could go with something further afield:
Mary Elizabeth Josie-Christine
Mary Josie Elizabeth
Mary Elizabeth Chrissy
Mary Elizabeth Christine (love this flow)*
*All faves! Maybe Mary Christina Elizabeth is the top-top if had to choose. But there are a number of delightful options to honour your grandmother…
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] & [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Christine[/name_f] would be my favorite options!!
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] shares more sounds with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], so I think [name_f]Christina[/name_f] sounds a bit better next to it, and I think it being your late grandmother’s first name makes it a bit more obviously meaningful too. I would do [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Christina[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]!
Oh this is beautiful! [name_f][/name_f] I’ve decided that if I ever marry, I’m probably changing my name in some fashion, and I’d love to take my grandmother’s middle as one of my own too. [name_f][/name_f]

It depends on your surname, but I personally prefer [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] over [name_f]Christina[/name_f], and I tend to prefer [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] when I attach a surname (I tried [name_m]Hunter[/name_m], [name_m]James[/name_m], and [name_f]Mackenzie[/name_f] for reference).

Good luck!
