Just to be clear, I’m not pregnant, but the name Mary-Kate (With or without hyphen) has been seeming more and more appealing. Mary and Kate (Honoring a Kathryn) are from my side of the family, just different sides. I like how the name honors both and still sounds cute and charming. I’ve added it to my list, but I can’t seem to shake off the possibility of adding a middle name to those two firsts. Never been a fan of double first names, but this name changes my view of them. Is it possible to give Mary-Kate a middle name as well that is her own, or is it not? Please share any ideas, opinions or experiences! Also, I would love to hear more unique NN options for the name as well!

I think it’s totally okay to give it a middle name - most of the people I’ve met with double/hyphenated names have middle names too - and plenty of people have multiple middles!

I’m usually not a fan of hyphenated names, but Mary-Kate is lovely! Sweet, charismatic, feminine and timeless. It definitely deserves a middle name, if you want!

I think Mary-Kate is gorgeous 
She feels like the ultimate southern [name_f]Belle[/name_f] name, really classic and has this charming refreshing vibe.
I’m not into hyphenated first names either they are really popular where I am so they feel a little lacklustre but Mary-Kate just pulls at the heartstrings.
I know of lots of children with hyphenated first names that also have a middle name. It’s really not that rare. Also I know lots of children including my own child that have two middle names. I think something tailored like Mary-Kate [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] would be sweet or something nature inspired like [name_f]Lark[/name_f] would be pretty.
