After writing my title I realize I’m basically asking if you can just please name my baby for me
We have loved the name [name_f]Jane[/name_f] for a long time and are leaning toward it, though we can decide on a middle name that goes with it and doesn’t sound like the name should be flip-flopped. Ex. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] kind of sounds like it really should’ve be [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. Does that make sense? We like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] but I’m not totally sold on it.
And how would you spell [name_f]Maryjane[/name_f]? All lower case? Capital “J”? This is our actual favorite but since it has us a little stumped we are hesitant she’ll deal with name nonsense her whole life. [name_f]Mary[/name_f] as a first name and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as the middle are not an option - we would definitely do it as her first name with a one syllable middle name (also undecided) since our last name is fairly long.
Help! Or just outright name my child for me, because I’m clearly too indecisive to do so
If you don’t want [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], I’d go with either [name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] or just with [name_f]Jane[/name_f] Middlename.
If you don’t want [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], I’d go with either [name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] or just with [name_f]Jane[/name_f] Middlename.
I like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is beautiful.
If you choose [name_f]Maryjane[/name_f], I think spelling it as one name with no hyphen or capital “j” is the best. It might keep people from shortening it to just [name_f]Mary[/name_f].
I would not use [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] together as it’s slang for marijuana. My ex-step sister is named [name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] and she gets crap about it a lot.
I would hyphenate [name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f]. Having it as one word looks odd, because they are separate names that have been added together. If you are against hyphens then I would go for [name_f]MaryJane[/name_f] - at least then both parts of the name are discernible , and people will be able to read it and spell it easier.
I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] paired with a 3+ syllable middle name. There’s something so elegant about a name like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. I don’t think the “name nonsense” a little [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] would deal with would have anything to do with how her name is spelled…
I agree that [name_f]MaryJane[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] or any combo where you say both names is a disaster. It’s marijuana. No way would I use it.
