[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! I know this is off topic but I want to hear your advices.
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are expecting our first child later this year and can’t wait to welcome little “Alexandria Nile” into the world. We chose her name as a way to pay homage to her Egyptian ancestry and roots.
I’m in the early stages of planning a maternity photo shoot during a trip to [name_f]Egypt[/name_f] probably month of [name_f]May[/name_f], The idea is to capture beautiful images along the [name_m]Nile[/name_m] [name_m]River[/name_m] and maybe even at some historical sites in [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f]. However, as first time visitors, we want to make sure we plan everything safely.
For anyone who’s visited [name_f]Egypt[/name_f] recently - would you recommend it as a safe place for a pregnant woman to travel right now? Any other expectant mothers do a maternity shoot there successfully? What precautions should we take or areas avoid?
I’d also love any recommendations for must-see areas for photos that really showcase the natural beauty and history. And any local cafes or restaurants you enjoyed during your travels where we could grab a healthy meal?
Really hoping to make this trip extra special as a way to connect with our daughter’s cultural heritage. Appreciate any advice or tips!
I don’t know if you are American but the US State Department has a level 3 advisory against travel to [name_f]Egypt[/name_f]. Congrats on the baby!

Congratulations! That sounds like such a beautiful opportunity to travel to such a special place for all of you, especially to capture that in maternity photos.
I’ve never been to [name_f]Egypt[/name_f] before, so I’m not much help on best places to visit or stop at. However, I do believe the US has a travel advisory out right now for traveling to [name_f]Egypt[/name_f]. I would look into that and see what they are saying about it to answer your question about is it safe to travel there. I would also try posting in another forum that might be focused more on travel and people who have been before. [name_m]Trip[/name_m] Advisor usually has some nice options for cafes and activities where people have left reviews and pictures that might help you plan. Good luck!

To be honest, I would not feel comfortable with travelling to a country like [name_f]Egypt[/name_f] at any stage of pregnancy. You didn’t mention how far along you would be, but you would have to consider the possibility of a premature birth or other complications and what that would mean in a foreign country. (In my own experience - my waters broke at 25 weeks in my last pregnancy - I was very, very glad to be at home when that happened).
There may be other issues in [name_f]Egypt[/name_f], for example, is the water safe to drink? Are there any diseases that could have adverse impacts during pregnancy? This is even without considering the security situation there.
You have to weigh up the benefits of you and your daughter having the memento of the pregnancy with the photo shoot, versus the safety risks of travelling to [name_f]Egypt[/name_f]. I do think it’s a lovely idea, but it may be better to wait until your daughter is older, so she can experience it herself, and the situation in the country may be less of a concern.

I really don’t think it’s a safe place to travel to right now. I personally would avoid it period and maybe think like a long term possible visit. Like revisit it as a possible 5yo birthday trip. Still not safe then. Then maybe 10 year. Etc etc

I feel so loved here with all your concerns, I do made research also if it’s okay to travel there Can You Travel to Egypt While Pregnant? The Ultimate Guide →. and its says here it fine and also we are considering hiring a guide from this https://gowithguide.com/egypt hiring when we travel there for less hassle and easy travel.
But again, from all of this comment I was wondering if we really go there or just have a DIY [name_f]Egypt[/name_f] insipired. But, as you said I need to weigh in things. I’m 5 months pregnant by the way. I think should really need to think about it alot…
Thank you so much for your concerns, I do really appreciate it!

I would check our [name_m]Trip[/name_m] Advisor, we already have one in mind but I might consider this one. Thank you so much for this advice. I really appreciate it, But again, I need to weigh in and thought alot more about it if I should have a maternity shoot there.
Thank you so much for your concern, I do appreciate it. I will think more about it if we should go or not.
Thank you so much!!! I am so excited to see her.
This link though is only addressing the generalized question on if a person can visit [name_f]Egypt[/name_f] while oregnant. It’s not however taking the current travel advisory and reasons for the travel advisory into consideration.
