Mattea/Matea/Matthia

I recently came across the lovely Italian name [name_f]Mattea[/name_f] (Ma-[name_u]TAY[/name_u]-uh), although I prefer it when pronounced Ma-TEE-uh. The problem is, I’m a pedantic about proper pronunciations and would feel uneasy about using Ma-TEE-uh, which I know to be wrong. I also love the [name_f]Matthia[/name_f] spelling, but am not sure how this is supposed to be pronounced? Is it Ma-TEE-uh, MA-tee-uh, Ma-THEE-uh or MA-thee-uh?
I’m not having children yet, but how would you spell/pronounce this name? Like I said, I like Ma-TEE-uh best. But I want it to be the right spelling for this pronunciation.
Thoughts?

[name_f]Matthia[/name_f] I would assume is said like mah-TEE-a

[name_f]Matthia[/name_f]- my second guess and I assume it is rare, would be ma-THEE-a

[name_f]Matea[/name_f] and [name_f]Mattea[/name_f] I would assume is said ma-[name_u]TAY[/name_u]-a

For the pronunciation you like, i would spell it [name_f]Matthia[/name_f] if that is your favorite. It is cute and spunky.

I prefer [name_f]Mattea[/name_f] (Ma-[name_u]TAY[/name_u]-uh) and with the Italian pronunciation too. [name_f]Matthia[/name_f] I pronounce Ma-TEE-uh though.

Honestly, I think there are many varied pronunciations of the name [name_f]Mattea[/name_f] all over the world, so I think saying Ma-TEE-uh is fine

I love [name_f]Mattea[/name_f] (mah-[name_u]TAY[/name_u]-uh), I think it’s gorgeous. [name_f]Matthia[/name_f] I would say mah-TEE-uh, but I prefer it spelled [name_u]Mattia[/name_u].

Yes, this. [name_f]Mattea[/name_f] was on my list for my little girl. It’s a lovely name. Good luck!

[name_f]Matthia[/name_f] I say mah-TIE-uh, like [name_m]Matthias[/name_m]. I would say [name_f]Matia[/name_f] as mah-TEE-uh.

My grandmothers sister is named [name_f]Mattea[/name_f]. Pronounced Ma-Tee-ah. We are in Australia. She was meant to be a boy for which they were going to call her [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]

My name is [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and growing up my nickname was “Katteah” pronounced "Ka-Tee-ah I’m fairly sure it’s after my Aunty [name_u]Matty[/name_u]. Although I have no idea where the “h” on the end comes from lol I love the made up name though.

Also we have friends with a daughter named Mataya “Ma-[name_u]Tay[/name_u]-uh”

My 11 year old and I were just discussing this name yesterday and decided it’s just too close to Madea, [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] [name_u]Perry[/name_u]'s character. We thought there wasn’t any way we could say we didn’t know if the child complained. It is a beautiful name and [name_m]Matias[/name_m] is popular in Spanish for a boy.
