[name]Hi[/name]! I’m a nurse-midwife and I really wanted to honor the profession by naming my baby girl after [name]Maude[/name] [name]Callen[/name] (a S.C. midwife - and an inspiration of mine). My husband and I both loved the name anyway, but we’re really struggling with finding a cool middle name that brings it back into this century… any suggestions? Also, do you think it would be better in the middle instead?

I’ll have to think about middles, but I think [name]Maude[/name] is a beautiful choice for a first name

[name]Hi[/name]! I love [name]Maude[/name], too, and think it’s great that the name has a special meaning to you. I adore [name]Maude[/name] as a first name or a middle name–just do what feels right for you.

If you’re looking for a name with a lot of nickname options, [name]Maude[/name] would probably work better for your baby’s middle name. I think [name]Maude[/name] is such a beautiful, elegant, timeless name!

Best wishes to you!

[name]Maude[/name] is fantastic! I’ve got [name]Maud[/name] (no ‘e’) at the top of my own list! [name]Maude[/name]'s tough to pair, in my experience but then, I have trouble with one syllable names in front, it’s a shortcoming of mine. Some ideas I’ve had recently:

[name]Maude[/name] [name]Coralie[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Winifred[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Violette[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] Pomeline
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Roxana[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] Celandine
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Primrose[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Valentina[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Pandora[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Elspeth[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Angelina[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Zuleika[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Henrietta[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Euphemia[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Ghislaine[/name]
and two that feel almost too modern for me:
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]

I really do think [name]Maude[/name] is aces and should go up front if you really love it (I do and am using it in front) I would only put her in the middle if I liked [name]Maude[/name], but not enough to use her as a first. I think [name]Maude[/name] already is in this century and just needs something cool/funky/different in the middle, not really anything modern. Something with a lot of meaning for you in the middle would be even more awesome. For the record, my #1 is [name]Maud[/name] [name]India[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] and I’ll definitely be using it if I have a girl aso your [name]Maude[/name] woun’t be the only [name]Maud[/name]/e running around!

I hope that helps!
