[name_m]Just[/name_m] for fun! I love [name_u]Max[/name_u] and I think it’d be nice and spunky for a girl, however I don’t really like [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u].
Any other suggestions? The only one I quite like is [name_f]Maxima[/name_f] but not sure if it sounds too clunky
Maxine would be the obvious choice imo, or [name_f]Maxina[/name_f] to make it more modern. Maybe [name_f]Massima[/name_f] or [name_f]Maxima[/name_f], although they’d take a lot to pull off. Another option would be to use an M name with an [name_u]Alex[/name_u] name in the middle (example: [name_u]Marley[/name_u] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Millie[/name_f] [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] etc.).
I love [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Max[/name_u] for a girl. [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] is also cute IMO. I don’t like [name_u]Max[/name_u] on its own.
@lucyxo I hadn’t thought about combining two names to get [name_u]Max[/name_u]. That’s actually a great suggestion
@Greyblue I do like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] but for some reason I feel the name is too associated with the film at least where I’m from. It’s actually all I can think of when I see it
@sarahjane1 I love [name_u]Max[/name_u] on its own for a boy, I would totally see myself using it but I’m just not feeling it for a girl
For those who suggested [name_f]Maxine[/name_f]. I’m kind of 50/50 with that name, for some reason it gives me a very old lady kind of vibe but I don’t know why since I actually don’t know anyone named [name_f]Maxine[/name_f]
I was doing a little bit of research to see if there was any other names that could be used. (I love [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] personally) I came across this in a forum
“[name_m]Just[/name_m] to let you know my nick name is max. I’ve grown up being called maxi pad since I was 9. Something you may want to consider.”
How weird because I didn’t leap to that at all when I heard [name_u]Max[/name_u] on a girl.
@sweetcaroline I don’t know if it rules the name out because there are so many ways a name can be made fun of but maybe something to look out for if you do choose it. I think some names you just know the poor child is going to be made fun of but [name_u]Max[/name_u], well it could go either way. No one will be thinking that you’ve saddled your child with a horrible name.
I’ve wanted in the past to find a long form female name for [name_u]Max[/name_u] because I also love it as a nickname for a girl but there’s nothing I love unfortunately. There’s [name_f]Maxine[/name_f], which I dislike, and [name_u]Maxime[/name_u], the [name_u]French[/name_u] version, and also, as you mentioned, [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u], which to me is masculine. [name_f]Maxima[/name_f] is kind of cool actually, definitely the best option in my opinion! I do know what you mean about it being a tad clunky though…
Max would make a darling nickname. I really feel like [name_f]Maximillia[/name_f] aught to be a name, but I’ve done no research to see if it is. It would be beautiful, if a tad frilly.
