I’m curious about the connotations attached to the name [name_u]Max[/name_u]. What would you assume about a boy/man named [name_u]Max[/name_u].
Personality, hobbies, career, etc?

I don’t think I’d have preconceived notions. It’s a common enough name that I think he could be anyone doing anything.
It’s so versatile, that it can really work for any guy.
The two kinds of guys that I guess immediately come to mind are a [name_u]Laurie[/name_u]-esque sort of guy (from [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women - specifically [name_m]Timothée[/name_m] Chalamet’s version) and a really sweet, shy, artsy boy-next-door. But again, it works for anyone, so preconceived connotations aren’t really a big deal here.
I honestly don’t have any strong associations/connotations with [name_u]Max[/name_u]–I know a few, so I think of them, but that’s about it! As the other commenters have said, I could picture it suiting lots of different types of people!
My nephew is [name_u]Max[/name_u] ([name_m]Maximus[/name_m]) and he’s a chonky, happy little dude. I don’t really feel any strong connotations towards the name; I feel pretty neutral honestly (probably because I see it as just a nickname)… and now, even though I know a [name_u]Max[/name_u], my thoughts haven’t really changed.
I think the long versions of [name_u]Max[/name_u] ([name_m]Maximus[/name_m], [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m], [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u], etc) have stronger vibes / meanings to me because I see them as complete names.
I think of a little boy with full brown hair, somewhere around the age of 7, whose parents are sporty, hipster and kind of nerdy city people.
Strong personality but very approachable and friendly. Is pretty into sports and has a lot of friends, but is also down to earth and would love to have a good chat with you for a while. Maybe in elementary school, but I also know [name_u]Max[/name_u]’s who are older and younger.
I’ve known a lot of different [name_u]Max[/name_u]’s so I don’t really think of anything in particular
I know several boys from school named [name_u]Max[/name_u] and I also think of this show that the children I used to babysit watch, it’s called [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
