Polling again! Baby is coming soon and we are still undecided on both a boy and girl name. Polling for girl name here. I think we have it narrowed down to Maya or Eve for a girl. Maya could also be spelled Maia (undecided on that too!). How do each of these names make you feel? What is the energy they give? Thanks so much!
I think they’re both gorgeous.
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] is sharper, more distinct! I love the Christmassy, wintry ice of her—but I still think she’s a shiny and warm choice.
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] is one I’ve heard on a bunch of people from family members to friends to classmates. They’ve all been lovely girls, and it’s a lovely, summery name! It’s just the more common of the two.

I like the sleek, sharp [name_f]Eve[/name_f]!
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] is nice too though - more floral
I slightly prefer [name_f]Maya[/name_f] to [name_f]Eve[/name_f], although they’re both lovely names!
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] sounds warm, caring, & down-to-earth. The two spellings ring slightly differently to me: [name_f]Maya[/name_f] reminds me of the Mayans, so it has Central American vibes, whereas [name_f]Maia[/name_f] is more connected to Greek mythology.
As others have pointed out, [name_f]Eve[/name_f] has a sharper sound - it’s less soft, but with an appealingly bright, streamlined feel. The Biblical source immediately comes to mind as well, so it has Edenic overtones.
So, both names have a lot of cultural & historical resonance… & they both sound really pretty, too!
Best wishes for your little one!

I like [name_f]Maya[/name_f] but I love [name_f]Eve[/name_f] - it’s an essential, beautiful name that can gives pure and innocent right through to commanding and super glam. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is friendly and pretty but doesn’t sparkle as much for me.
I personally love the name [name_f]Maya[/name_f] (or Maia)! The sound has a softness that [name_f]Eve[/name_f] doesn’t have, but it doesn’t feel flimsy either.
Both names are gorgeous but I prefer [name_f]Eve[/name_f].
