This might sound weird but I like [name]Maya[/name] because the name has different levels. The M is higher and the y goes lower whereas in [name]Maia[/name] the M is taller but everything else is straight across.

I prefer [name]Maya[/name]. It just looks more complete to me.

I think it depends on what you want from the name. The spelling [name]Maia[/name] is a goddess, the spelling [name]Maya[/name] is either Hebrew or ancient civilization. They’re both great.

I must admit that I know so many little [name]Mia[/name], [name]Maia[/name], [name]Maya[/name], [name]Mya[/name], Gaias that I do get them all confused, a bit like the many [name]Ellie[/name], [name]Ella[/name], [name]Elle[/name], [name]Elise[/name], [name]Elsa[/name] variations - I prefer the [name]Maya[/name] spelling but she will always have to spell it as I do [name]Catherine[/name]-with-a-C.

[name]Mia[/name] is not [name]Maya[/name]… It’s Meeee-ah… [name]MYA[/name] IS [name]JUST[/name] stupid… [name]Do[/name] not spell it this way. I was considering spelling it [name]Maia[/name] but [name]Maya[/name] looks better and my name has a y… so i thought hers should too… Then there is [name]Maja[/name] which is also [name]Maya[/name]… When my daughter [name]Maya[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] was like six months old… A friend of the family had a baby and named her [name]MYA[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name]… I was mad then… and I’m still mad now…

I prefer [name]Maiah[/name].
[name]Maya[/name] reminds me of doomsday 2012, because of the Mayan Calender. [name]Maya[/name] also seems trendy to me because of the y.
@dillansfan01: I get exactly what you mean! I also prefer names and spellings that “go up & down”. I think you get that with [name]Maiah[/name]. It seems like the more complete version of [name]Maia[/name].

Anyway, [name]Maiah[/name]>[name]Maia[/name]>[name]Maya[/name]

At the very least, if you do use the name [name]Maya[/name], don’t give her a middle name that starts with n.

I vote for [name]Maia[/name]. I think it looks cleaner, I also love that it’s a goddess, not an ancient civilization. ^^

I see [name]Maya[/name] pronounced as [name]May[/name]-ah and [name]Maia[/name] pronounced as My-ah. I prefer [name]Maia[/name]

I prefer the simplicity of [name]Maya[/name]. Very popular but I think it’s gorgeous, especially the meaning.

I prefer [name]Maia[/name], but it would often get misspelled as [name]Maya[/name]. [name]Both[/name] have different meanings, though, so choose the meaning you like best.

Depends on what pn you want. [name]Maya[/name] = [name]May[/name]-uh, [name]Maia[/name] = My-uh

I prefer [name]Maia[/name] - she’s prettier looking, and [name]Maya[/name] reminds me of the Mayans.

[name]Maia[/name]! It’s so cute, I’m considering it as a middle for my baby! [name]Maia[/name] was (in Greek mythology) one of the Pleiades (mountain nymphs) and [name]Hermes[/name]'s mother. And it’a a [name]STAR[/name] (in the star cluster Pleiades in [name]Taurus[/name])! In [name]Roman[/name] mythology she was an earth [name]Goddess[/name].

[name]Both[/name] are great, I pronounce both My-ah. I think of Mayan indians when I see [name]Maya[/name], but most would think of [name]Maya[/name] [name]Angelou[/name]. I believe [name]Maia[/name] is a Greek deity name of some sort where the month of [name]May[/name] is derived. I do prefer [name]Maia[/name].

I pronounce both as My-ah! I voted for [name]Maya[/name] because I thought it was the original/traditional spelling. Now I realize that they are both original/traditional and have different meanings. Now I don’t know which I like more. I like the meaning behind [name]Maia[/name] more, but I find [name]Maya[/name] looks nicer when written out.

I adore [name]Maia[/name], I think it’s stunning - I really, really dislike Y’s, so [name]Maya[/name] just doesn’t compare for me. [name]Maia[/name] [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] was on my list recently.

While I like [name]Maya[/name] and [name]Maia[/name], I tend to prefer [name]Maia[/name] because of the mythology connections, and I became really good friends with a girl from [name]Georgia[/name] (the country, not the state) who was named [name]Maia[/name]. Either way, it is still a very nice name.
