Meadow and Margot too close?

[name_f]My[/name_f] brother had his second baby last summer, and I am pregnant with my 3rd. They named their baby [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and one of the only names my husband and I can agree on is [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]! Are these too similar for cousins, or am I overthinking?

For cousins I think it’s fine![name_f][/name_f] It would probably be a little close for siblings for me, but I don’t see an issue otherwise. [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] is a lovely name [name_f][/name_f] (as is Margot)

For cousins it’s totally okay! I agree with @/Archer27 in saying that [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] & [name_f]Margot[/name_f] would be too close for siblings, but no big deal in this case.

[name_f]Meadow[/name_f] is such a pretty choice :bouquet:[name_f][/name_f] Congratulations!

I thought this was a sibling post and was like “absolutely not” but for cousins it’s totally fine honestly.

Yep like others have said, for cousins its fine. Sound wise they maybe similar (still not overly matchy though) but style wise they’re completely different.

How close will they be for cousins. [name_m]Will[/name_m] they be seeing each other every day or is there a little bit of distance where you see them occasionally.

[name_f]My[/name_f] son and my niece are 6 weeks apart and we’re pretty much raised as brother and sister [name_f][/name_f]. They are inseparable. If their names were similar I would consider it too close

[name_f]My[/name_f] nephew is 6 years younger and lives several hours away. [name_f]My[/name_f] sons name starts with a D ends with an N and is 2 syllables [name_f][/name_f], my nephew starts with a d ends with an N and 2 syllables [name_f][/name_f], both 6 letters … but not a problem for how frequently we see them

Totally OK for cousins, yes! I say this as someone with cousins [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_m]Grey[/name_m] (both girls, live in the same town, go to the same schools). It’s always been fine.

This is a good point! We aren’t super close. See them maybe every couple of months. And the girls would be a year apart in age!

No! Not siblings and not same nicknames (eg Meddy v Maggie). Go for it. :sheaf_of_rice:

I think Marg0t and [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] are absolutely fine for cousins they would actually be really sweet names for cousins. If I was their grandparent I would love saying my granddaughters are Marg0t & [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] beyond adorable.

I think it’s fine for cousins [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] the end sounds and initials do[name_f][/name_f] make them rhymey/similar, but the different styles and middle sounds [name_f][/name_f]- and the fact they’ll be cousins not sibs [name_f][/name_f]- mean they work for me

I think it’s totally fine, especially for cousins

If they were sisters, I think I’d find it a little too much, but I think it’s perfectly fine for cousins! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] is adorable!
