[name_f]Tiffany[/name_f]! My mom is a [name_f]Tiffany[/name_f] and she always jokes that people think she’s mean before they’ve met her thanks to practically every 80’s movie set in high school where there’s always a blonde mean girl named [name_f]Tiffany[/name_f].
All the hate for [name_f]Savannah[/name_f]! I know several very sweet girls with this name. I guess it’s all in personal experience I concur with almost every name everyone has mention thus far, such as:
[name_f]Brittany[/name_f]
[name_f]Tiffany[/name_f]
[name_f]Briana[/name_f] (or any names ending in -ana for that matter)
[name_u]Ashley[/name_u]
And some of my own personal ‘mean girls:’
[name_f]Corrine[/name_f] (pronounced Coh-rin, not [name_m]Cor[/name_m]-een; that one’s fine)
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassy[/name_f]/[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] (one of the reasons I prefer the spelling [name_f]Jayne[/name_f])
I don’t agree with [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] or [name_f]Heather[/name_f] they are both really lovely names! I knew a kid called [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] she was very sweet and feminine and I also know a [name_f]Heather[/name_f] who is/was a really lovely person.
Means Girls For Me:
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Kelsie[/name_u]
[name_f]Brittany[/name_f]
[name_f]Rachael[/name_f]
[name_f]Jayne[/name_f]
lol, I was going to say, how in the WORLD does my name invariably end up on every single one of these mean girl posts? I don’t really know that many other Ashleys, and none of them have been mean girls, so I don’t understand where the stereotype comes from.
Most of the mean girls I knew growing up had much less common names (Chl0e, C0lleen, [name_m]Al[/name_m]!c!a, [name_f]Mar[/name_f]!ela, Jul!e and Jul!e, R!anna, etc. Not totally off the beaten path, but it’s definitely not what most people would jump to as “mean girl” names…). I grew up in really small schools, though, so I have no real stereotypical image of a “mean girl name”…
ETA: I’m not sure I’ve really known an [name_u]Allison[/name_u]/[name_u]Allie[/name_u] until now? Ohmygoodness, I take it back. I was in high school with an [name_m]Al[/name_m]!son nn [name_m]Al[/name_m]!, and she totally was. More stuck-up than mean-girl, but she never gave anyone the light of day. I work with two Allisons now, and neither seems to be very mean-girl–one’s a bit of a ball-buster and won’t cut her sister a break, but as no one much likes her sister, we all find it pretty hilarious, anyway, lol.
I would never name my children:
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_u]Ashley[/name_u]
… all are mean girls in my school
Since I am from Chile, the mean girls were almost always Camila.
Another names that make me think about mean girls:
Tiffany
Ashley
Krista
Jade
Harper
Nevaeh
Isabella (I’m writing a novel. The antagonist is an Isabella)
Simone
Axelle (see Isabella)
Alyssa
Madison
Allison
Abby Lee! LOL
Samantha
Rachel
Leah
Megan
Wow! This is so funny, my sister’s name is [name_f]Melissa[/name_f] and she’s also incredibly sweet (well not to me - because I’m her sister ;)) I guess it is different depending on personal experience! For me [name_f]Maddie[/name_f], [name_f]Laila[/name_f], and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] are such mean girls. The girls in question are the reason I’m put off with the names almost completely.
[name_u]Ash[/name_u], I know an [name_f]Ashlea[/name_f] (pronounced the same), [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] and [name_f]Ashlee[/name_f] they’re all really lovely girls whom I’ve never had an issue with.
I have no experience with Allies or Alisons, I just think of The Notebook and I liked [name_u]Allie[/name_u] in that movie.
Mean girls when I was at school were:
[name_f]Erin[/name_f] - not pronounced like [name_m]Aaron[/name_m]; but like eir-rin.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Danae[/name_f] - Both of them aren’t very nice.
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]
[name_f]Tiffany[/name_f] - More so stuck up than mean girl.
My own name is often said to be a mean girl name, which.is why my friends shorten it to [name_u]Jess[/name_u].
I always immediately think of [name_f]Megan[/name_f] as a mean girl name…And then I think of that line from Community when [name_f]Shirley[/name_f] says “why would you name a child [name_f]Megan[/name_f]?! Are you stocking up for a bitch shortage?”
I take no offense to the comment of [name_u]Ashley[/name_u]. I have met a few mean girls names [name_f]Ashleigh[/name_f], [name_f]Ashlee[/name_f], [name_f]Ashly[/name_f], but no [name_u]Ashley[/name_u]'s. I have this spelling and was picked on by people since this is the guys spelling. I have like two friends with the same spelling I only know how one turned out in highschool. She is nice to unless you make her mad or hurt her friends. She liked to gossip about the rumors. I set the lunch table straight as a ruler and defended a guy who everyone called “gay”. I am a helpful person who helps people with no thougths of anything in return. I get stepped on because of this.
As Papa Roach has sung “I tear my heart open and sew myself shut. My weakness is that I care to much. Our scars remind us that the past is real. I tear my heart open just to feel”
I get hurt because of caring but I still care. I feel everyone’s emotions that I connect to. [name_m]Just[/name_m] tonight I helped my friend who is like a little sister to me who has to deal with barbies as we call the mean girls of high school life. I help her a lot. As well as her boyfriend. I am like a consuler at times that is how much I have gone through in 21-22 years. I have friend who have gone through life with more bigger things that follow them in life forever. We live we learn and we learn from other. I actually love my name and am only mean if you hurt my family or friends.
[name_u]Ashley[/name_u]
[name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]
[name_f]Melissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Callie[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] - Although I have some awesome friends named [name_f]Jessica[/name_f].
[name_u]Lisa[/name_u]
[name_f]Michelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Betty[/name_f]
[name_f]Darlene[/name_f]
