I’m looking for a name that suits my main character in a story-based video game I’m making. It’s set in the classic Middle [name_f]Earth[/name_f] or Dungeons & Dragons-esque universe. She was born to noble parents so I want a slightly regal name, but later on she became a pirate with slight magical abilities and gained a few levels in bad*ss.
I’m maybe looking for something that is a slightly noble sounding name but something that can be shortened into an edgier nickname. Preferably something that sounds a little bit familiar or human.

[name_f]Isabela[/name_f] sounds nicely noble! I don’t know what you mean with “no short option”, I think [name_u]Bela[/name_u], [name_f]Bel[/name_f] and [name_u]Issa[/name_u] all work.
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f] “[name_m]Cas[/name_m]” is also great, and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] works if you want her to keep the original name.
I wouldn’t use [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], its biblical origin is too obvious and I assume there is no Bible in your universe.
I also quite like [name_u]Tarian[/name_u] but can’t think of a short option for it.
[name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] is a little wordy for my taste. Maybe if you use more wordnames on other characters it could work.

I love the idea of naming her [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]; If what you want is a noble girl turned pirate, I think that fits the image perfectly. [name_f]Lux[/name_f] is my favorite rebellious nickname for [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] but it’s also a great name without any diminutives. I also like [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and other forms of the name for your character. Also, unrelated to naming, that video game sounds lovely and I know I would love to play it when finished.
