Megan: too dated?

This. [name_f]Megan[/name_f] feels different to me than, say, [name_f]Brittany[/name_f] or [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] because she has more history. She may have peaked in the 90s but I think she’s somewhat evergreen. I also love the nickname [name_f]Meg[/name_f].

Megan is a really sweet name. I feel that because it peaked a while ago, it’d be a nice name to use again since it probably won’t re-emerge for a bit. [name_f]Meg[/name_f] is also a super cute nn!

It’s also a very timeless name and I think it adds a sort of classy undertone to this name

Megan’s lovely, and quite fresh and underused nowadays! I work with children and have yet to meet a [name_f]Megan[/name_f] under 21, but I think it’d be refreshing to meet a little one with the name.

I totally agree with this. For context, I had a mom name growing up and this probably isn’t everyone’s experience with that but it was really alienating to me and I feel pretty strongly about it. It wasn’t that my name was unheard of, it was that the only other people with my name were my mom’s generation rather than mine. I was a pretty quiet, bookish kid and I felt like my name always made me seem further out of the loop with my schoolmates. As an adult I’ve also noticed that my name often doesn’t stick with new people when I meet them, and I assume it’s because my name’s generation doesn’t match my generation (and isn’t super unusual or memorable). Sooo I guess it’s clear how I became a name nerd!

I agree with another PP though that [name_f]Margot[/name_f] feels fresh and more current, and that [name_f]Meg[/name_f] is a super charming nickname!

Nope , not too dated at all. It’s a great name.
