Curious what others thought of [name_f]Melinda[/name_f]? I’ve never met one but liked it when I heard it on a show. Is it super dated? Or would it work for a little one?
It does feel dated to me, though I’ve never been a particular fan of [name_f]Linda[/name_f] names even when they were ‘in’.
Unfortunately, it does seem a bit dated because of similar names like [name_f]Linda[/name_f] and [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]. But with that said, I do think it is usable, and could be a really interesting, spunky choice for a baby today! After all, the sound is not all that different from [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and co. Or, [name_f]Demelza[/name_f] might be a interesting, fresher alternative!
Not a fan of the [name_f]Linda[/name_f] names but I like [name_f]Melinda[/name_f] as the best of them.
It’s pretty, but does seem a touch dated. I don’t think that rules it out from being used today, though.
It’s pretty, and I actually do like the -linda names generally, even if they are a bit dated. [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] is a lovely nickname option.
I’ve never met a [name_f]Melinda[/name_f] of any age, and to me it has a different vibe from [name_f]Linda[/name_f], so it doesn’t feel dated to my ear. I think it is very pretty.
I have a sneaking fondness for [name_f]Melinda[/name_f], though my favorites are [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] and [name_f]Clarinda[/name_f]. I do like the combo [name_f]Melinda[/name_f] [name_f]Clary[/name_f] and think [name_f]Lin[/name_f] or [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] is a cute nn.
I know a [name_f]Melinda[/name_f] who was nicknamed [name_f]Mindy[/name_f]. I think it’s a sweet and unexpected choice.
I agree with previous poster that it’s very sweet and unexpected. A touch dated, but that’s not such a bad thing - I still love [name_f]Tiffany[/name_f], [name_f]Erika[/name_f], and [name_u]Lindsay[/name_u]. It would be great to see on a child nowadays.
[name_f]Melinda[/name_f] does seem slightly dated to me, I’m afraid, but I wouldn’t say it’s unusable. My only association with it is [name_f]Marvel[/name_f]'s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s [name_f]Melinda[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f].
