Melody?! Alliteration

I love the name [name_f]Melody[/name_f], and my husband likes it enough to shortlist but we think it sounds a bit terrible with our last name Monks?!

Like [name_f]Melody[/name_f] Monks! Too alliterative and cheesy?! Would you think just go with it anyway and never mind?! Opinions wanted

I think [name_f]Melody[/name_f] is really pretty and I don’t think it’s bad with Monks. Maybe a little cutesy but still useable.

I definitely think it’s useable! Unless you’re not a fan of the MM initials. Similar name is [name_f]Elodie[/name_f].

Melody is such a sweet name, and I think [name_f]Melody[/name_f] Monks sounds cool with the alliteration!

I might keep looking but don’t eliminate it entirely if you love it. It’s not terrible but a bit Dr. Seuss.

MM is kind of a bonus if you like M&Ms

I don’t mind [name_f]Melody[/name_f] I do prefer [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] only because [name_f]Melody[/name_f] sounds more like a word name and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is more established. melody Monks is fine to me :slightly_smiling_face:

I live [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] but my sister in law is called [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and I feel it sounds too similar to a close family member

Melody Monks is such a sweet name! The alliteration makes it memorable, imo. I don’t think it’s too much!

I don’t think the alliteration is an issue, I quite like it. I think rhyming and repetition of whole chunks of sounds can be problematic eg. [name_f]Melody[/name_f] [name_m]Melton[/name_m] or [name_f]Melody[/name_f] Dermody - but that’s not the case here!

I don’t think it’s that bad. Although I do like alliteration in names. There’s no big repeating sounds besides the M. The el, dy, and on all are different sounds in each. If you guys really like [name_f]Melody[/name_f] go for it! She’ll be called just [name_f]Melody[/name_f] way more than she’ll be called [name_f]Melody[/name_f] Monks.
