I like it a lot in theory (but I think it would be unfair to my son), but since we’re sticking to the land of theory - I picked [name]Meredith[/name] [name]Edward[/name].
[name]Meredith[/name] [name]Edward[/name]! I like the idea of using nickname [name]Red[/name] if you want a nickname, but [name]Meredith[/name] is a nice name all by itself if you want it for a boy.
There’s a 9-yr-old boy the next town over (coastal [name]Maine[/name], US) named [name]Meredith[/name]. I don’t know how the name’s played out for him [name]IRL[/name]. I’ve heard, though, that the name is pronounced quite differently in [name]Wales[/name] and for guys…With the accent on the middle syllable. So: Me-[name]Red[/name]’-Ith. Check on Forvo, the pronunciation website. I love the name for a boy, but only pronounced this way.
It is still considered a male name here in [name]Wales[/name] and thuja has it right re the pronunciation being different for boys. The Welsh spelling is Meredydd …aside from [name]Meredith[/name] [name]Grey[/name] of [name]Grey[/name]'s Anatomy I have never come across a female [name]Meredith[/name] . As I can only picture strapping rugby playing lads with this name …I love it !!
fully agree…
… For some reason this post makes me sad
I shouldn’t have come here, I should’ve just left it alone and pretended not to have read the title.
I like [name]Meredith[/name] on a boy, but I also like: [name]Marion[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Kelley[/name], [name]Merrill[/name], and [name]Riley[/name]. For boys rather than girls.
