Merida & Hermione -- Too Pop Culture?

I adore [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] & have her on my “real possibilities” list. [name_f]Merida[/name_f] has also made an appearance or two on that list, long before Brave came out. I’m just curious if sisters named [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] & [name_f]Merida[/name_f] would be “too much?” Would having them follow sister [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] and brother [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] even things out?

I personally like [name_f]Merida[/name_f] more than [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], but both are beautiful names and go well with [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] & [name_m]Phineas[/name_m].

On their own, both names are fine; quite lovely, actually. But together, it seems they are far too pop culture related. And throwing [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] into the mix only makes it more pop culture in my book because where I live, all the kids are into Disney’s “[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] and Ferb.”

I’d be fine with it. I really like [name_f]Merida[/name_f], and I love [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], so maybe that’s why I don’t mind. [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] does remind me of [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] and Ferb too, but even then, if you really love the names, I’d go for it.

If it was just [name_f]Merida[/name_f] and [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], I think it would be a bit of a pop culture overload, but once you throw in [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] and [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] I think it balances out.

[name_f]Merida[/name_f] isn’t. Only a few people would probably pick up on the reference but I don’t think it would matter because it’s very pretty. Hermoine is cute, but it’s a very obvious name.
