Mermaid names?

Hey fellow writers!

I’ve been outlining my next series for a few months now. I have majority of the names down (the mermaids) but I’m still struggling to find a name for my main character. She lives in Northern [name_u]California[/name_u]. She’s seventeen and she’s a demi-mermaid. Her father was a merman and her mother was human. She was raised on land and it isn’t until she’s seventeen that she discovers she can breathe underwater. I want an ocean related name but I want it to be an average name. I don’t want any mythical sounding names because those are for the mermaids. The name I have for her right now is [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] but I not a huge fan of word names.

[name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] (meaning)
[name_f]Maris[/name_f] (meaning)
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] (meaning)
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] (meaning)
[name_f]Nerissa[/name_f] (meaning)
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_u]Shelly[/name_u] (like seashell?)
[name_f]Summer[/name_f]
[name_u]Kelsey[/name_u]/[name_u]Casey[/name_u]/[name_f]Bessie[/name_f]/[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] all end in “sea” sounds
[name_f]Diane[/name_f] with the nickname [name_u]Dune[/name_u] (as in sand dune)
[name_f]Seana[/name_f]

I’m naming mermaid characters right now too. You could try looking up the names of fish you might base their mermaid patterning off for inspiration (eg. [name_u]Angel[/name_u], after angelfish, or [name_f]Jewel[/name_f], after jewel damselfish). They’re not directly sea related names, but you’ll make any readers who figure out the connection feel very clever.
