Hello Nameberries, I am [name_f]Estela[/name_f] and am really needing some help and guidance in choosing my daughter’s name, she is due to arrive in [name_f]April[/name_f], so will be a springtime baby.

I would like some help in selecting a name that would honor and reflect my Mexican roots. My mama immigrated with me to the US when I was little and so now that I am living in Mexico again it’s maybe the most important thing for me. I like names that are feminine and have a certain fire or strength about them, but still retain elegance and class… Or maybe I’m just delusional and asking for too much lol.

My favorites from your list would have to be [name_f]Marina[/name_f], [name_f]Mirella[/name_f], [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], and [name_f]Primavera[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Dolores[/name_f], and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] :slight_smile:

I personally [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Luz[/name_f].

Also [name_f]Xochitl[/name_f] is a definite guilty pleasure. If I didn’t feel like it was cultural appropriation, I would strongly considering it myself.

[name_f]Concha[/name_f] is a word for vagina used in a couple countries in Latin [name_u]America[/name_u]. Maybe that’s not the case in Mexico though.

I have been thinking of using [name_f]Xochitl[/name_f] as a sort of middle name, so thank you for mentioning! [name_f]Luz[/name_f] is very beautiful, I agree, but I feel like I need something a bit longer.
