Middle name advice - baby due next week!

My daughter number 2 is due next week and we are still unsure about the middle name. We have been toying with some family names and some that we just like. First name is definitely [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. What do you think of the following:

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] - great grandmother on husband’s side. I like the synergy with my DD1’s middle name which honours a great grandmother on my side, but we are not sure about the flow…
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Mira[/name_f] - derivative of [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] ?? Same reason as above.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] - husband’s grandmother was [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]. Not my favourite name… But family honour…
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] - other great grandmother on husband’s side. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the name but is it just too much like ‘[name_m]Sylvester[/name_m]’?

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] - just love the name
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] - ditto

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Well I really like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] the best.

Of the names on the honor side I really think [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] sounds the best. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] to honor [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]? I honestly don’t
care for [name_f]Mira[/name_f] or [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]. I agree that [name_f]Esther[/name_f] is a no-no. All I can see and hear there is [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m].

I would use [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] if you wanted to honor family.

I really like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] with [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] being my favorite.

Since you used a family name for your first daughter, I would do the same for your second daughter. Although, I do love [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f]!

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] DOES sound really close to [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m]!

I like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], but if you’re not totally sure… you could use a variant or a similar name and it would still honor the family member. I was thinking [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]?

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is a great name, by the way! It’s one of my front runners if we have another girl.

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] are so gorgeous!
I agree that [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] sounds too much like [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m], and although the sentiment is there, not fond of [name_u]Rae[/name_u]. You have some great combos there, can’t go wrong

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] is gorgeous, and I like that it honours someone. I think it flows better than [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Mira[/name_f] and it feels more exotic and unusual than [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u].
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] does sound like [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m], but middle names don’t usually see a lot of use, and if you love it, I wouldn’t let [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] stop you unless you have a bad association with someone named [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m].

I’d just like to say thanks so much to those that have responsed. I really appreciate you taking the time to do so. I thnk it will probably be [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] unless we decide to do away with the honour tradition in which case I’m favouring [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]. Thanks again guys.
