Middle name dilemma, Catherine or Elisabeth

Decided on the name [name_u]Holly[/name_u] for our little girl due a week before [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]:christmas_tree: Going back and forth between the middle names. Opinions?

I agree both are lovely options
Personally I prefer [name_u]Holly[/name_u] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]. It’s warmer and somehow fits the [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] vibes

Both are lovely, but I think I like the flow of [name_u]Holly[/name_u] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] just a bit better.

@elanorelle [name_f]My[/name_f] husband prefers [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], also. Partly because it’s just his taste, partly because I think he wants to call her KitCat :joy:

Yay congrats on the choice of [name_u]Holly[/name_u]! Both middle names are lovely! I have a slight preference for [name_u]Holly[/name_u] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. It just sounds so festive to me! But [name_u]Holly[/name_u] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] varies the syllable count 2-4 so it might sound better. [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]/Elizabeth is also very common for a middle name, if that matters to you.

You may want to think about which set of initials you like best. And if you’re into monograms which one you like the look of better. You can also try reading the full name out slowly like she’s graduating to see which you like the sound of best!

Good luck!

[name_u]Holly[/name_u] is so sweet for a [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] baby!
Both are great options, but I think I slightly prefer [name_u]Holly[/name_u] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]. There are some repetitive sounds (Holly **[name_u]Eli[/name_u]**sabeth) but it sounds really soft and warm, which makes [name_u]Holly[/name_u] more joyful and Christmassy!

I think they are both great. Is one initial better for initials? I know vowels can sometimes create words out of initials, haha.

@jstodd11 if we used [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] her initials would be HEB. I don’t think it would be too big of an issue though. Lol

I think [name_u]Holly[/name_u] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] has a better flow!
