Help! We are having a girl and we both love the name [name_m]Christian[/name_m]. Everything we pick for a middle name doesn’t sound right, though.
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] is a family name, but it doesn’t flow with [name_m]Christian[/name_m], does it? And are the two together too much religion in one name? I am [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] and I go by [name_f]Rachel[/name_f].
I love names with O and X - [name_f]Odette[/name_f], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Louise[/name_f], and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] (the other X names I like are all boy names). I love older traditional romantic names, but I also like things that are different, but not necessarily “trendy” - nothing in the top 50. My husband likes the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] names a lot.
It’s tough to find the right combination! Thank you in advance for suggestions and please, please don’t shoot my name down… I need positive assistance here please!
I like [name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] best from your list. This makes a very spunky combo. Second choice [name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. In my family tree there was a [name_f]Christiana[/name_f] whose name was often written as [name_m]Christian[/name_m]. I wonder if she was mostly called [name_m]Christian[/name_m]…
I like [name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] from your list! I think it flows well. Alternative idea: What if you named her [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] but then called her [name_m]Christian[/name_m]?
I agree that [name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] sounds very religious, but [name_f]Marie[/name_f] or [name_f]Maria[/name_f] seems a little less so.
From your list, I thought of:
[name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]
[name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_f]Philomina[/name_f]
[name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_f]Josette[/name_f]
[name_m]Christian[/name_m] is very religious on it’s own regardless of what’s being added to it.
If you’re [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] and go by [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], why not [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_m]Christian[/name_m]? The flow is really nice. I once knew a family that used the [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Middle Name tradition with everyone going by either the full first and middle or just their middle. I thought it was really neat.
If not [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_m]Christian[/name_m], from your list I like [name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_f]Odette[/name_f].
