I am trying to come up with the right middle name for our new son, whose name is [name]Arlo[/name]. I like nature middle names, and I think 3 syllable names sound good with [name]Arlo[/name]. But I’m pretty open-minded! Here are some of my early choices - would love feedback or suggestions!
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Augustus[/name]
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Justus[/name] (since my name is [name]Justin[/name])
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Ambrose[/name]
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Kingston[/name]
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Pike[/name]
[name]Arlo[/name] Rook
I love:
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Justus[/name] - I usually don’t like [name]Justus[/name], but it goes really well with [name]Arlo[/name]! The best of all your choices imo.
[name]Arlo[/name] Rook - Rook is one of those cool names that a boy would probably love to have, and it rolls off the tonge nicely.
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Ambrose[/name] - The double-A does bother me slightly, but [name]Ambrose[/name] is such a great fit stylistically with [name]Arlo[/name].
I think alliteration with vowels seem awkward, so I wouldn’t use any of the A middle names… I like [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Pike[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] the best. I would like [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Justus[/name], but it sounds a bit like a superhero name haha Out of genevie’s list I like [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Bastien[/name], [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Frey[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Icarus[/name]. I like [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Leo[/name] too.
Thanks for the feedback! I wonder if that’s a general feeling that vowel alliterations are best avoided. Although in the case of most of these, the A in [name]Arlo[/name] and the A in the middle name have different sounds.
[name]Genevie[/name] - I like several of your suggestions, including [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Frey[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Tobias[/name] - thank you! Still undecided though, maybe I need to sleep on it.
