I’d love to honor my grandmother [name]Aurora[/name] by naming our daughter after her but we are hard pressed to find a suitable middle name. We were thinking of a J name since my husband’s name is [name]James[/name] but are open to anything. What are your thoughts on [name]Aurora[/name] [name]James[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you have any other suggestions?
[name]Love[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] and greatly dislike [name]Aurora[/name] [name]James[/name]. [name]James[/name] should stay a boy name [name]IMO[/name]. [name]How[/name] about [name]Jameson[/name]? I know that still means “son of [name]James[/name]” But I’ve only ever met girl Jamesons anyway so I can get behind it on a girl a lot more than straight [name]James[/name]. [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jameson[/name] is nice. [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jamie[/name] might be one too.
Hello!
[name]Aurora[/name] is fabulous! I love this name! I also adore the name [name]James[/name], but not really as a girl name. Maybe, [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jamie[/name]?
also related to [name]James[/name]:
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jem[/name]
[name]Hope[/name] this helps! I think you COULD use [name]Aurora[/name] [name]James[/name], but something more girly would suit [name]Aurora[/name] better.
I love the suggestions of [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Joy[/name], [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jane[/name], and [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]. I also think [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] is pretty though I prefer the [name]Isabelle[/name] spelling. I really like [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name] [name]Jane[/name] for a two middle name combo.
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]James[/name] is cool. A friend of mine just had an [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Joy[/name]. I like boy’s names on girls, and [name]Aurora[/name] is feminine enough anyways that it balances out.
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jamie[/name] would be better, or even [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jane[/name].
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jade[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jasmine[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jolene[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jolie[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Jennifer[/name]
I really like [name]Aurora[/name] [name]James[/name]! If you want something more feminine, [name]Jemsa[/name] is a Spanish name referring to gems that has the letters of [name]James[/name]. It’s pronounced Haym-sa in Spanish but I think it would be fine to just say [name]Gem[/name]-sa. You have plenty of other good suggestions and I really like [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Isabel[/name], I like the look of [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Isobel[/name] a little more even FWIW.
Thank you everyone! We really love [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Isabel[/name]. It was our first choice even before we were trying to conceive but then our close friend used [name]Isabelle[/name] for her daughter’s middle name… [name]Do[/name] you think it will be weird if our girls have same middle name with different spelling? I’ve wanted [name]Isabel[/name] for a first name since I was a little girl so it’s not like I’m stealing my friends name but I’m wondering how she’ll feel about it.
Hard to say how your friend will feel… I guess you could ask her. There are lots of Isabelles in the world, so it’s not like you’re a terrible name-thief. I do prefer the single L spelling. I like Jesba’s idea of using [name]Isobel[/name], to balance the O in [name]Aurora[/name]. Personally, I might go with [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Ysabel[/name], or [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Ysobel[/name]. I think the Y causes you to linger at the beginning of [name]Ysabel[/name], and kind of elevates the name. My only qualm with your very beautiful name is that [name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Isabel[/name] are so similar in tone, both feel very queenlike to me. Somehow [name]Isobel[/name] or [name]Ysabel[/name] feel a bit more spicy, and less straight-up regal. [name]Just[/name] nitpicking. Nice name.
I dislike [name]James[/name] on a girl. [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] is a nice choice. I wouldn’t spell [name]Isabel[/name] differently. [name]Kinda[/name] takes away from the beauty of the name when you start switching out letters.
[name]James[/name] is fine for a middle name - but we use family names a lot and frequently maiden or surnames as middles for girls so the masculinity doesn’t bother me. If you were okay with just using the J-initial then I think previous suggestions of [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is stunning. I also like [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Isabel[/name]. You are lucky to have such a gorgeous name like [name]Aurora[/name] in the family!
[name]Love[/name] [name]Aurora[/name]! It was my great grandmothers name also!
Not a fan of [name]James[/name], that belongs in the boy catagory. [name]Love[/name] someone’s thought on [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]. Beautiful!
Emmabobemma… Thank you! That is great advice! My name starts with a Y as do the name of my two sisters so that would be a great way to keep that tradition somewhat alive. Would it have the same pronunciation as [name]Isabel[/name]? [name]Just[/name] add a pause because of the odd spelling?
