Middle name for baby girl Kieran?

Any suggestions for a middle name for our daughter who we’re planning on naming [name]Kieran[/name]?

Thank you!

I really like the name [name]Kieran[/name] but before I would be able to give sugestions for a middle, I would want to know the first intial of the last name and maybe the number of syllables if flow matters to you.

For example, my SO last name- which would be the kid’s last name starts with a C so I have to watch what I put in the middle. [name]Kieran[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] C last name may sound all well and fine, but I wouldn’t want my kid’s intials to spell KOC, especially on a girl- say it out loud phoenetically… :frowning:

Also, does the “flow” of the names matter to you? Or are any groups of names off limits? ie flower names, more irish names, word names, surname names… etc

All that being said here’s some off the top of my head, without knowing more

[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Rhiannon[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Alexa[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Justine[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Arabella[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Faith[/name]

Maybe that will get you started, hope to hear more.

Sorry to be blunt but: Please don’t name your daughter [name]Kieran[/name] (you do know that it is a boys name??!!). I’m afraid I’d view someone who did that as culturally ignorant. What’s wrong with [name]Keira[/name]/[name]Kiera[/name]?

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I love some of the recommendations. [name]Kieran[/name]'s last name will be a doozy, hyphenated last name–MacCarthy-Jacobs so something simple for the middle name I think would work best. We’re thinking about [name]Anais[/name], but since [name]Kieran[/name] ends with an “an” sound we’re not sure if that has the best flow. Any suggestions?

Many thanks!

Spell it [name]Kiran[/name]; it’s a legitimate girls’ name (Sanskrit, meaning dust, thread, or moonbeam) while [name]Kieran[/name] is just a boys’ name. Either way, I’d suggest something classic and clearly feminine for a middle name-- [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name].

If you are worried about it looking masculine I know a lovely girl named Keirin. There is something about the two i’s that make it look more girly. Either way I love the name.

Middle Name Ideas:
[name]Jayne[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Adele[/name]
[name]Kate[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Zooey[/name]
[name]Amaya[/name]
[name]Ava[/name]

I’ve only ever seen [name]Kieran[/name] on boys names (it’s my middle name) but I have heard it’s being used more on girls recently too, at least in the US. I would suggest pairing it with a feminine middle name so the gender becomes more obvious, or maybe considering [name]Kiera[/name], [name]Kiran[/name] or even Kerren or something like that.

Good luck!

My 5 year old daughters name is [name]Kieran[/name]. Her middle name is [name]Emma[/name]. [name]Kieran[/name] spelled this way is an Irish boys name… However, [name]Keiran[/name] spelled this way is Unisex. Everyone that ever asks my daughters name always compliments how pretty it is. I’m sure you have found a perfect name for your daughter by now but I just found this forum and wanted to share.

I love [name]Kieran[/name] spelled just the way it is. I run a Pre -K and I have met a girl with this name but not one boy yet so it is not all boy. I personally think it sounds feminine! Maybe try a frilly middle name to balance out the unisex.

[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]

The [name]Kieran[/name] I met was named [name]Kieran[/name] Irelynn as her parents were both from [name]Ireland[/name]

Good [name]Luck[/name]

[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name] [name]Giselle[/name]

Since [name]Kieran[/name] is an Irish boy name, I agree with the previous poster who suggested [name]Kiran[/name]. [name]Kiran[/name] is a unisex Sanskrit name, meaning ‘light’.

[name]How[/name] about:

  • [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] MacCarthy-Jacobs
  • [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Elodie[/name] MacCarthy-Jacobs
  • [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] MacCarthy-Jacobs
  • [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Tallulah[/name] MacCarthy-Jacobs
  • [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Violet[/name] MacCarthy-Jacobs
  • [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] MacCarthy-Jacobs
  • [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Sidonie[/name] MacCarthy-Jacobs
  • [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] MacCarthy-Jacobs
  • [name]Kiran[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] MacCarthy-Jacobs

[name]Kieran[/name] is very masculine, I second the suggestion of [name]Kiran[/name].
