So I’m torn between the middle name [name_m]Hart[/name_m] an [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] for baby S.
I like [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f].
Is there a first name though
There is we just chose not to reveal the name till after the birth. It starts with S an can end with N or E.
Its hard to give input without knowing the first name. I would lean towards [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] which I really like. [name_m]Hart[/name_m] is cute but can be considered either cutesy or masculine. I would go with whatever sounds best with the first name and your surname though.
How many syllables is the first name?
If it’s short, I’d go with [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f]. If it’s longer, go with [name_m]Hart[/name_m]! Both are nice
[name_f]May[/name_f] I ask why
It’s two syllables.
I’d probably go with [name_m]Hart[/name_m] than, especially if the first
Name ends with an n
what’s the point in not telling us the name? we can’t give you middle advice without knowing what the first is.
Good point. I think if I go for the longer spelling though I will use [name_m]Hart[/name_m]. And vice versa for the shorter spelling
[name_m]Just[/name_m] a personal choice.
Okay! Let’s see…
If it’s on the shorter side, [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f]. If it’s rather long, [name_m]Hart[/name_m].
If it’s girly, [name_m]Hart[/name_m] could work. If it’s neutral or leaning masculine, [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f].
If it has a common spelling, [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] would be safe. If it’s spelt in an alternative way, my choice would be either [name_m]Hart[/name_m] or [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] spelt this way, because having two names with unfamiliar spellings may be challenging sometimes.
If it ends in N sound (since you said it can maybe end in N) [name_m]Hart[/name_m]. If the possible N sound is silent or you go with the E spelling, [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f].
If it contains ar sound, then [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f]. If it doesn’t, [name_m]Hart[/name_m] would be fine as well.
If the two syllables you mentioned earlier contain multiple consonants, [name_m]Hart[/name_m] because it’s shorter. Otherwise [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] would be my choice.
If it’s a word at the same time, [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] since [name_m]Hart[/name_m] sounds like heart. If it’s not, both can work.
If it contains more soft consonants I prefer [name_m]Hart[/name_m] to create a balance (and it would match her siblings’ names better in this case, [name_u]Micah[/name_u] [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u] has two dominant strong sounds and so does Teagan), if it has strong sounds then maybe [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f]? But now that I think again, if Teagan’s middle name has strong sounds it may be better for her middle to have strong sounds as well, so the three siblings can match!
It it has a fantasy book feel and you’d like to keep the overall imagery [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] would be better. If you think two fantasy names would be too much, [name_m]Hart[/name_m] works. If it’s more like a modern American name, as in the previous example, [name_m]Hart[/name_m] would keep the vibes and [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] would add a whimsical touch.
If the middle name you chose for her twin [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] is more like a fantasy name like [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] and her first name is more American, [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f]. If the middle name you chose [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] is like [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] but her first name is also stylistically similar to [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f], then [name_m]Hart[/name_m]. If [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] has an American first name I’d go with [name_m]Hart[/name_m] no matter what style her first name is, since her siblings’ names sound more like modern American style to me.
If your last name is [name_m]Larson[/name_m] as in your user card, hmm, there would be different reasonings for both options. If the first name doesn’t end in N sound then [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] would work nicely. If it does, you’d get a triple N ending combo, which may work but probably not ideal. Then [name_m]Hart[/name_m] would be the option but if the secret first name contains an Ar sound like [name_m]Larson[/name_m], I’d avoid [name_m]Hart[/name_m].
Assuming her last name would be [name_m]Larson[/name_m], her initials would be either SEL or SHL. SEL stands for Social and emotional learning but I don’t think that is a common knowledge. SHL can stand for Sudden Hearing Loss or [name_u]Southern[/name_u] Hockey League. Something to consider!
If her first name sounds like an [name_f]English[/name_f] last name (or any last name), I feel like something non-English non-word can work better, my vote goes to [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] in that case. [name_m]Hart[/name_m], as I mentioned earlier, can make the overall name sound word-y or like a last name.
If her first name is mythological, then [name_m]Hart[/name_m] may not be a great choice, since mythological stories are often based on strong emotions, a name sounding like [whatever goddess]’s Heart may be a bit too much! [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] would work in that cass
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps a bit!
i think Hart sounds best with Sloan/Sloane, if that’s the first name you chose!
As others have mentioned, without the full first name we can basically only give preference for those names by themselves, not as middles.
If the first name has an -n or -ne ending then Ellowyn may not flow perfectly. [name_f]My[/name_f] personal preference is the neutral [name_m]Hart[/name_m].
hi! so while it may be a little confusing to figure out which one will sound better with S’s name, i’m going to give it a shot.
with the clues that you’ve dropped throughout the threads, i have a good feeling about what you’re little one’s name could be! my guess: sloane/sloan
in my opinion, hart goes with that name better. with ellowyn, you get a ____n ellowyn larson, which is very heavy on the n’s. so in that case, hart sounds really nice.
(sidenote: sloane is super cute with teagan & micah <3)
however, my concern with the middle hart is the very gender-neutral, masculinity of the name s____n hart larson, along with the repeated “ar” sound.
here’s some suggestions just in case you’re not sold:
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]
[name_f]Neveah[/name_f]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u]
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Adalynn[/name_f]
[name_f]Arianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Kehlani[/name_f]
i hope this helps!
Is there a first name picked yet?
I like [name_m]Hart[/name_m], blindly choosing unknown what the first name is I’d say [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f].
I much prefer [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f], especially if the first name is one syllable. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if the first name ends with and ‘n’ sound I think [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f] will sound bette.
However I much prefer [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] over [name_f]Ellowyn[/name_f], which feels like an awkward spelling to me.
