[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! If you saw my previous post you know I am having a girl. Out of my list, a lot of you loved [name_f]Zélie[/name_f] and [name_f]Binta[/name_f].
After spending the last two days shouting out names and nn’s while at home (great suggestion from my mom), I am leaning towards [name_f]Binta[/name_f]. BUT I want to have 2 to 3 full name sets to choose from when I meet little one to see which one just settles better with her little face.
I for sure have [name_f]Zélie[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]. [name_u]French[/name_u] name for my husband, and the [name_f]Zee[/name_f] nickname which he loves, and [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is my middle name. Also a main character in a book series we both like.
[name_f]Binta[/name_f] is a [name_u]West[/name_u] African name which is a nod to my husband, and I get to call her [name_f]Beanie[/name_f] when she is small so I love it lol And also gets the letter nn my husband loves, [name_f]Bee[/name_f].
Thoughts on a middle for [name_f]Binta[/name_f]? I would love for it to be more of a reference to me/my family/preferences. [name_f]My[/name_f] initials are TJK. I dont like alternative spelling names. I do like something classy but not too overdone. I love floral names and old lady names. Avid reader so love literary references. [name_f]My[/name_f] background is Korean and Jewish if that helps spark anything!
Helpful notes: Our last name is 3 syllables and starts with a K, I am hesitant to use a J name because of the BJ initials and also a T name because of the full initials of BTK who is a prolific serial killer.
I don’t know that people would automatically think of BTK (except for me because I am a serial killer enthusiast and not in the creepy way) but I definitely get your concern.

Maybe a middle name with a joyous meaning since [name_f]Binta[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] may not work?
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps! I do think if you’re in the UK or likely to live there, the “Bint” slang (derogatory for woman/ wh0re etc) should be factored into your decision…I hope this is less of a concern even in the UK, which a [name_u]Brit[/name_u] may be able to comment on.
