Middle name for Britton

I’m expecting my first child, a daughter, and her first name is going to be [name_u]Britton[/name_u]. I know not everyone likes the name [name_u]Britton[/name_u] but it has a lot of personal family significance and we like it, and really that’s all that matters.

Anyway, my due date is fast approaching and we still have not 100% decided on a middle name. We want it to be a very feminine name because [name_u]Britton[/name_u] is kind of unisex. Our list right now is:

[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]

[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]

As you can see we have a lot of options we like but we’re having trouble finding one we love enough to use. I would appreciate some input from other people – either opinions on the names on our list or other middle name suggestions if you have any. Thanks!

[name_f]Mariah[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Colette[/name_f]

[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is pretty! Definitely my favorite of the list.

We named our daughter [name_u]Britton[/name_u] as well. She was born Dec 24/2012. We also wanted something feminine to balance out the more neutral first name. After a week of deliberating after she was born, we settled on [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. I like the second syllable emphasis and the uncommon-but-not-weird popularity of it.

Maybe [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] would work for you too?

Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m].

Thank you everyone for the input. [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is lovely! It’s nice to hear about another little girl named [name_u]Britton[/name_u] as we haven’t heard of many. I also like [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] but my husband does not like it much. He thinks a short middle name would sound best, like [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Faith[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f] etc. but I think longer names would sound good too. We’re still debating. I appreciate everyone’s suggestions.

I love [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], and [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]!

I like [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] best from your list but when said together, it is a bit heavy on the N’s.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Aurielle[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Anya[/name_f]

For some reason I’m on the A train today, haha

Poor kid. [name_u]Britton[/name_u] is a surname and I can see a lot of bullying there. There is 1000’s of girls names out there, and you chose one which will be full of bullying. Why don’t you just put it in the middle name spot?

You really are a snowqueen. Cold hearted. Learn to form a sentence.

Anyway,

I think [name_u]Britton[/name_u] is an awesome name! From your list I like [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] the best.

I love the suggestion of [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]! I agree with having a shorter middle name but I think 2 syllables would be ok.

I wrote it quickly. Are you perfect? I’m just pointing out that names cause bullying. As a victim of bullying I wouldn’t wish that on my worse enemy, and you, are a bully! Can you not be nice, it’s [name_u]Christmas[/name_u].:o

Oh, every name is ripe for bullying in some way. And if it’s not your name, the bully will just pick something else. If someone wants to tease you, there are worse things than a name they can latch onto. Besides which, I think [name_u]Britton[/name_u] is a perfectly fine name with little teasing potential. [name_m]Even[/name_m] more besides which, original poster did not ask for our input on her chosen name.

I think [name_u]Britton[/name_u] works best with a single syllable middle. I like [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] best from your list, but [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is beautiful as well. I would add the suggestions of [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Anna[/name_f], and [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Emme[/name_f]. Congrats on the new edition!

Yes thank you, [name_u]Britton[/name_u] is a surname. It was my husband’s mother’s maiden surname, actually. We decided to give that name to our daughter as a way to honor her after she passed away from cancer a few weeks after we found out I was pregnant. We did not just put it in the middle name spot because we don’t want it in the middle name spot, we want it in the first name spot, and we are the parents. If bullying occurs we will deal with that but we do not consider it a big enough reason to not use a name that we love and that is very important to us. However if [name_u]Britton[/name_u] wants to go by her middle name instead when she is older she is free to do that, so if you have any middle name suggestions then I’d be happy to hear them. If not, thank you for you input anyway but we do not really need opinions on the first name as it has already been chosen.

Let’s not argue here, guys.

@SnowQueen: The OP specifically didn’t ask for first name opinions and - though I’m sure you didn’t mean any harm - there was no need to post about the chosen first name here.

@Cengel73: If you have a problem with a poster in the future, please PM me or one of the other mods rather than replying to them. We like to try and keep the threads free of controversy so the OP can continue to get answers.

Hmm…

My favourite [name_u]Britton[/name_u] combinations are:
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]

I think [name_u]Britton[/name_u] needs to be teamed with a name that is longer in style and has an elegant sound.

Suggestions
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Milena[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Mariana[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Samantha[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]

: )

Thanks everyone. [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] is so pretty and I like [name_u]Britton[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] as well, but I don’t know if my husband would go for it. He wants a very classic feminine name to even out [name_u]Britton[/name_u] which I agree would sound very nice. I think our top contenders right now are [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Faith[/name_f], [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], and [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] but they’ve been changing regularly.
