Middle name for Claire - Which is your favourite?

Hello,

We have recently begun to really love the name [name_f]Claire[/name_f] for our baby due in the new year. I’d love insight on the two following questions, if you’d be so obliged.

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] is my middle name, but I hate the spelling my parents chose (Clair). It has always felt horridly incomplete to me, and google has informed me its the masculine version of the name.

  1. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you feel it is odd of me to give her my name, but change the spelling?

  2. Which of the following combinations is your favourite? Last name is long, but only two syllables and starts with a B.

  • [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Loretta[/name_f]

Thank you!

No I don’t think it’s strange at all to change the spelling! It’s a sweet way to connect mother and daughter

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites from your list are [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] :purple_heart:

I looove [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]! I dont think its weird to use your middle, its nice

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] with a close second of [name_f]Claire[/name_f] Delphine!!

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Loretta[/name_f], and [name_u]Clare[/name_u] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] are absolutely tied for me!

I am [name_f]Ginger[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u] btw

Not strange at all to alter the spelling

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is my favourite

Not strange at all. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is utterly divine!

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] certainly gets my vote. I don’t think changing the spelling is weird and I love that you are passing your name down ! So sweet and sentimental that she will always get to carry a piece of you in her name

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] ! And congratulations and the upcoming baby, I can’t imagine how exciting that must be

I don’t think it’s odd to use your middle name.

I like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f].
If you do go with [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] the initials do spell CAB which isn’t a bad thing if you truly love the name.

I really like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]! [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is a sparky, underused name. Definitely super pretty and stands out.

I’m not fond of [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] - the two syllables run into each other with the l and r sounds repeated in “laire Lor”.

No, not strange at all if you are just adding an E. If you did something like [name_f]Klare[/name_f], that would be weird.

I like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] best. Maybe [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] second but only because [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] amd [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] are so popular, not that there is anything wrong with that. I dont really feel like [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] goes with the soft and delicatness of [name_f]Claire[/name_f], imo.

No I don’t think it’s weird in the least! We need more daughters named after their mothers.

[name_f]My[/name_f] 2 favorites are [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].

I think it’s a sweet way to connect mother and daughter!

I think of [name_f]Claire[/name_f] as a very classic name, so I would pair with something maybe a bit more ‘fun’ or unusual.

I really like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] from your list! It seems like you like a -ine ending for the middle name, and I think [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] sounds the nicest with [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. You could even call her [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] as a nn!

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]

This is very funny because I would love to name my future daughter [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] or [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] Posie… LOVE [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]!

All these names have perfect flow! The shorter first paired with a middle that emphasizes not-the-first syllable. You can’t go wrong!

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is gorgeous! It’s not weird at all to use your own middle.

claire eloise and claire delphine are lovely!
