Not expecting a girl this time but just thinking ahead!
[name_f]Endellion[/name_f] is quite possibly my very favourite girls’ name but I’ve always dismissed it as a first as being waaayy too “out there”. However, my husband actually loves it and wants to put it on the list! We’d nickname her [name_f]Nell[/name_f].
I struggle with middle names for this one because it’s so long and unusual that I think it needs something short and well-established (not necessarily popular, but definitely well-known and fairly traditional) in the middle. I want to avoid “filler” middles like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f], even though these are pretty enough and flow well with [name_f]Endellion[/name_f].
Any bright ideas anyone? We pronounce the name “en-[name_u]DELL[/name_u]-ee-on” and my signature contains some of the other girls’ names we love for inspiration.
What about switching it to [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Liv[/name_f]? I prefer [name_f]Liv[/name_f] as a first, personally, but I think this one flows well too.
I think it needs a short middle. [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] , [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f] would be cute.
ETA: I took so long to write that @impwood’s comment showed up after I pressed “post”. Sorry for the repeat of [name_f]Fay[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f].
Thanks for the responses, I’m liking some of these a lot.
@luneth I do like [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Liv[/name_f]… I’m so used to hearing it the other way round because it’s been in my signature so long that it sounds a bit odd to me, but it flows well and I love both names so maybe I just need to give it time!
@wittyusername [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is great! You’ve made me think of [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u] too, though [name_u]Rue[/name_u] might be a bit too quirky to use with [name_f]Endellion[/name_f], hmm…
@a_r Fab list, thank you! I’m really loving [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] (I don’t even like [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] normally, but it’s beautiful here!), [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] (this is what I have it paired with currently, but that would give initials of EEW, which I’m not sure about…), [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Flora[/name_f]/[name_f]Fleur[/name_f] (again, don’t even like [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] normally but it sounds great here), [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] and [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Meg[/name_f].
@morning_glory Thanks! Some lovely options here I really like [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] and you’ve made me think of [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f] too, which I think is very pretty.
Perhaps [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Neve[/name_f]/[name_f]Niamh[/name_f] might work for you then? They sound very similar, and the initials would be ENW. I think enw means ‘name’ in Welsh and is the code for some airports and the abbreviation for a Nigerian language, but I doubt any of those things would get her teased in the playground.
Ooh, thank you for the additional suggestions! [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] are especially lovely.
@a_r I do like [name_f]Neve[/name_f] but I’m not convinced about using it with an -n ending first. It sounds basically the same as [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] when I say it aloud so I don’t know why it bothers me, but the pedant in me can’t cope with the repeated letter!
